Just get the valves done and chain/sprockets and you should be g2g

ppl say a lot of things. your engine will bed in the rings into the walls of your cyl during the first few dozen miles. After that is just wear, a lot of which comes from starting rather than running.
I wouldn't know what to call high mileage on a sport bike. I've seen people blow 30k + miles and 1500mi engines at the track. Maintenance, type of riding, the rider itself there's so many factors that affect it. Do your own assesment of the bike. 25k is not unheard of. Neither is 35 or 40. Above that i've heard of few people, but i think mostly because they wreck it rather than blow the engine.
Engine isn't your only concern at mileage.. gotta check bearings, headset play, suspension, really ride and feel the bike basically to determine how much work you'll put into the bike - YOU WILL put work into the bike from day 1, you can also NEVER trust a seller.. just saying from experience. Do everything "again" if you have the smallest doubt.
