Almost made a 5yr old child pancake

Coming home from work, up over a hump bridge and down towards the turn off towards home and some kids running along the pavement so first though, they're gonna run across the road, so i slow down, then the kid turns down my road so I think awesome he isnt crossing, so i hit the throttle lean into the turn and I'm off....then BAM, kid decides to run across the road after all(this is rush hour loads of cars about) his friend shouts to him but he's oblivious, i only just manage to stop, i decided not to wack the horn on as he'd be scared shitless and stop in the middle in my path instead of moving out the way(like a deer in headlights) but really....it was a basic thing my parents taught me to look before crossing the road, whats wrong with most parents these days....(by the way parent isn't even with kid, he's running around traffic by himself after school)

For the parents out there, visualise your child here, and make it so i don't have to get the shovel and scrape them off the tarmac, thanks! (notice the green light on here for cars to go)

Looks like the driver did him a favour since he couldn't even have his pants all the way up. Pretty bad i'm so use to people running out in front of me.

"Don't worry honey it's ok if you get hit by a car, because then we can sue our way to being millionaires!"

Then they'll get to tell their sob story on Oprah.

i live near a school which i have to ride pretty much around the entire school to get home in the afternoon. kids are unpredictable (hell adults with valid drivers licenses are unpredictable), so i slow down to a canter, but in first gear so im still noisy. kids, even with parents instructing at the top of their voice, seem oblivious to responsible pedestrian customs when heading home after school.

you would have expected that behaviour form a cager, and you should expect it from a 5 year old kid after school

We're really big on using cross walks here, and if none, then an intersection.. where pedestrians always have the right of way... So i am always particularity cautious in those areas. I take great pleasure when people decided to j walk or walk on green lights. Yesterday during rush hour at a busy intersection some kid was not 15 feet from a cross walk, behind a blind right hand turn, pacing like a turtle, not a care in the world, i wanted to smack him, but was too focused on swerving around him. He saw me coming too, didnt change pace or anything, i had to lean further into the turn or risk sliding out into the cars at the stop sign, and whip back up before hitting the curb. Although i'm glad he didnt change direction like a squirrel , cause that would have sucked. I've seen them play pong on the road before.
