* 11/01/2012 *

I've finally gotten ALL the Banjo bolts I need to install my new SS Brake lines.. Spiegler Black Banjo Bolts purchased from my local TCPS

* 11/06/2012 *

Ordered a black oil filler cap from ebay seller M Factory... I like the style!

* 11/17/2012 *

I figured I'd take this off the list since I'm lowering the bike...Yana Shiki Top Triple Clamp purchased from TCPS... this thing looks SEXY!!! Can't wait to get it installed!

Looks like I'll be busy Thanksgiving Weekend.....

Love seeing a bike got from stock to modded. Where did you get the 600rr.net res cover?

Ditto!.. I too love seeing the transformations... also feels best when you do all the work/mod yourself!

Most of my posted purchased goods have a hyper-link to where I got the items from...

Here's a quick link to the res cover vendor....

That was the year when they have 1st incorporated MotoGP tech into the 600's.... plus the intro of the Pearl White version!!

Before making the purchase.. I've also asked around other CBR owners (@ Bike nights) about which is better... same answer.. "Go with the '07! It's got the power"

Also after I had bought the bike, I got a free oil change over my local TCPS shop.. the mechanic took it around for the usual inspection ride.. after the ride, he then asked if I did anything to the bike? I said no... why?... His reply was.. "It's pretty quick! Of all the 600's I've ridden... this was the fastest.. more umph factor in it!"

The 2007RR is the best CBR600 ever released. Right behind the 2011RR

Also SHAdoh, I've been thinking... you should look into getting some white break lines or something, just to spice that rear up a little more.

Actually, the 07 and 08 are the exact same bikes. So the 07 and the 08 are the best model years. I would personally say the 08 is really the best because it's a year newer of the two. :) However, everyone knows the white/silver is the hottest colorway.

So what makes the 07/08 better than the 09? Did I miss something and should have not bought my 09!?

Most of us are just messing around bro (well atleast I am). Saying a 07 is better than an 09 is like saying black is better than red...

Although one CBR might look better than another CBR on paper, the truth is that 95% of the time your CBR will out ride you... that other 5%, your probably just really lucky or called Casey Stoner.

I believe the 07/08 model years have a tad more top end then the 09+, or at least that is what I heard.

Shadoh, your thread is just awesome. Great work so far and always looking forward to your next addition. But of course you just inspired me to start modding and are fully to blame for my next shopping spree.

Currently working on it as I'm typing... got her apart around 6pm tonight... & I just finished installing the lowering link & adjustable kickstand.... I now FLAT FOOT the CBR! ... next job is to lower the front to match and installing that beautiful triple clamp... but I think I may need to make a visit to Sears to get the socket for the center nut @ the top.. doh!

Also on note: the adjustable lower link I got does NOT go to stock height! It's a 1" inch drop to 4" inches!!! (Not stock to 4in as my previous post listed)

* 12/3/2012 *

I already got the bike lowered.. but thought I should do something to the down pipe.. so I prepped for the infamous rattle can action!

* 12/5/2012 *

After much debate w/myself.. I ordered the Rizoma bracket from good ol' PJ's parts..

NOTE: I've tried a fair amount of positions for this to fit the way it is supposed to.. you may have to install upside down like I have it.. still looks dope!

* 12/7/2012 *

Since I'm waiting on parts... I thought to finally use the chain cleaner I got a while back... DAMN! Works GOOD & EASY!!!

TIP: Cut out a card board backing/shield to prevent chain-grease splatter all over the bike,wheel,etc.. trust! It helps w/the clean up!

* 12/10/2012 *

Finally! After placing an order Dec 1st.. My freaking clamps arrived!! Ordered from Koolance .. their logo on the clamps is kinda kool!

TIP: use soap/water around the tube to better help slide these clamps in easier... but try NOT to get any on the inside tubing..

(I thought to use the factory clamps.. turns out they were too big... bought some other clamps off e-bay.. came wrong size! ...doh! Then pondered into these babies! Effing tight clamp!)
EDIT: Size is 10mm (3/8in)

* 12/12/2012 *

Got her all put back together! DUN! Brakes bled, clamps installed, bolts tightened, and Oil changed! ALL INSTALLED! Here are the pretty pictures....

Top Clamp..

TIP: http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=160007 & 30mm socket

Lower Link & Adjustable Kickstand...

Front Spiegler brake lines w/banjo bolts... also found a short SS allen head bolt to fill the hole

Front Reservoir..

Rear Reservoir

(I've modified the stock bracket to fit the Rizoma perfectly... took alot of filing down! also shaved off the factory protector arm for the OEM reservoir to expose the Rizoma!)

continued..

also got some items anodized black.. like rearset spacers & washers.. had to modify the heat shield too.. I think I may just NOT make a bracket & just keep it zip-tied to the rear sets.. I'm using the heat shield to cover the rear brake pressure switch.. had to modify the cover by using a dremel to shape the groove of the lines to the plastic cover, causing it to bend oddly... Judge for yourself below..

lowered 1 inch I believe..

I officially FLAT FOOT! Can't wait for the weekend spin

Close up..

Don't really know about the flaking... yet! Haven't had the chance to ride yet (it's been raining here) I used the same spray can as I did for the sub frame & rear pegs.. rated for 500 degrees.. so we'll see how it goes..

I know other forum members did this as well.. c07byg is one of them..

& NO! YOU CAN'T HAVE IT! lol...

Exclamation Feedback..

After going for a ride today... I am pleased to say that I feel SUPER comfortable on the bike now that it is lowered 1 inch .. couldn't feel any difference between stock height versus my current set up except the sense of feeling lower to the ground. Turns and corners didn't change (I'm used to it since my scooter is lowered and extended)

Brakes had changed dramatically after switching out to the Spieglers. LOVE IT! (I didn't install the new EBC pads yet as I wanted to compare the "feel" vs. stock)

Lowered + SS braided brake lines = coming to a stop light AWESOME!

I've also tried different footing positions @ the rear sets.. I think I found a winner.

Also the paint on the down pipe started to cook "n" smoke.. it now looks super flat light-black.. none the less, still black..all good... but the 500 degree paint is a FAIL! I think BBQ grill paint should hold up better

My next on the list to-do is to change out the seals @ the forks.. been like that since I bought it... so I guess that would be my next project to tackle... how fun

EDIT: Picture added..

Newb question here, what size are your rizoma resevoirs front and back. They look like CT027 for the fronts and CT015 for the rear. Thanks

Can I ask where you got the adjustable kick stand? Also, do you think it's reliable? I heard some people say it wasn't
