Hey guys.. I couldn't find a how to thread but feel free to link me if there is knew already.
My RS5 full system should arrive soon and I just want to know how to go about installing it the best/easiest way before I just start taking the bike apart
Cheers

It's relatively easy, I didn't install my RS-5 with the stock fender on, so I can't account for that. But there are a crapload of YouTube videos for the removal of the stock exhaust.
Anyone else had troubles when installing the new manifolds with your full system? I'm struggling to get them in. The stock ones fell straight out once unbolted but the Yoshimura ones are way tighter and I'd pretty much have to hit them with a hammer to get them in, and I don't wanna do that and destroy them...
Yeah I just did this install on my 07. They are a pain. I used a soft plastic hammer to seat them all the way down. I had to take the oem copper gaskets out too. Put ever thing on and leave all the bolts loose till the end. And I went and got a longer bolt for where the midpipe connects to the subframe. Then muscle everything good.and tight and tighten bolts. I have a header that's likes to back off a hair so I just loosen and push it back flush. I have some pics of the install in my albums, don't know of they will help. If you have other questions just ask I will all i can.
I managed to get one seated, but I think it still needs to be tapped in more. Are they supposed to be all the way up to the block (as in the lip on each manifold touching the block?)
I really doubt I'll be able to get that one back out to rremove the washer too...

Well I tapped mine all the way down to the block. I have a plastic hammer with sand in in and that's what I used. I lightly taped on till it seated all the way in. I believe your instructions say to take out the oem copper gaskets. I had to pull a manifold back out cuz I forgot to pull the gaskets out. Got ahead of myself. It can be done though. I tapped on it from the top then bottom and pulled at the same time. Tool me awhile but I got it. Here's a pic of the oem gaskets that need to be pulled.
What are you doing to change the fuel ratio? I'm running a power comander 5 with a custom map. Would be willing to share it with ya if ya want to take a look at it. I have a 07. And the map from the site is really rich. My custom map is rich down low rpm so its alittle more streetable so to say.
Well we ended up getting it done, but left the copper washers in there..... It seems to all line up properly and doesn't sound like there's any leaks so hopefully it's all good.
As for maps etc, I don't have a power commander or anything for it yet, so I'm guessing it'll run pretty rough until I do? It seemed to idle fine, but I won't be able to ride it until I finish flushing the radiator which I'm about to start now..
Does it run ok without the factory O2 sensor installed?
I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be riding it with out getting to change the fuel ratio. From what i understand and was told when I put my exhaust on was get a power commander or a bazzaz fuel controller. You should be running really lean now with the exhaust. As far as the O2 sensor I didn't have one. Do you have a European model. I believe they have a fix for the O2 sensor too.
I'm in Australia so not sure if we have our own model or whatever, but it did have an 02 sensor in the stock exhaust.
Anyone else got any feedback on full exhaust without a fuel controller? If it's something that is an absolute must, I'll have to order one from motomummy and won't be able to ride for another 2 weeks at least until it gets here..
If it was a slip on you could get away with it but full exhaust may cause damage from running too lean. Don't ride it until it has at least a downloaded map from dynojet for your setup
I've ordered a power commander last night mad won't be riding it til I do. Sinception fitting the exhaust I ran it for a total of around half an hour in 10 minute intervals to flush the radiator... hopefully that didnt do any damage!

Did you order the power comander 5? Did you look into the O2 sensor eliminator? Maybe someone else would know if my map will work on your bike, which I believe may be a European model. They have the O2 sensor I think. My bike did not have the sensor. But like i said if you want to try my custom map your more than welcome to.
I saw the o2 sensor eliminatior mentioned on the dynojet site..is it an additional part or just a different map specifically for models with the o2 sensor?
Please say it's not an add on that I need and didn't order!

I'm pretty certain that the Australian models are the same as the UK/European models. If that's the case you will almost certainly need an O2 Eliminator. I had to fit one when I recently installed my Power Commander V.

I asked a bike workshop here in Australia about all of this, he said that personally he would reccomend drilling the exhaust to install the o2 sensor. If I want to remove it (disconnect it completely) then I will need the eliminator. However if I remove it from the exhaust (which is done as there's no hole for it anyway), I can leave it connected and just tuck it away under which will mean no error code. He said there may be a slight power loss but nothing serious, and can always get the eliminator or drill the exhaust at a later date..
I'll wait to see what motomummy say and go from there.
Has anyone ever purchased one before and know a rough price?
