Yamaha is calling

Whats up hommies I am looking into buying an R6 for the wife, she is taller than me and I wouldnt mind having a blue mistress in the garage. Anyways the bike is an 06 but with 30k miles on it. Its only $4500 and its from local trusted dealership plus it will be my wifes intro bike to the 600cc world. I think that as long as the bike was maintained properly I shouldnt have any issues. Minus the Flamers, what do you guys think?

making it into your own silver leaf blend isn't as ambitious as rolling gold leaf, yo?

any chance for warranty? sometime the extended warranty will 'really' pay off. that mileage w/proper maintenance is nothing for a modern sportbike motor. most can easily go beyond high six figures ie beyond 150k w/out ever needing valve adjustment. it's ridiculous how good the standard tolerances of the motors too. the yammies are more high strung though & tend to have more occurrences of failure. just keep on the maintenance & will be fine.

lower, it's a buyer market

Thanks ridinghood and yes I can buy a warranty from the dealer. Also keep in mind this is my wife's first 600. So I really don't mind the mileage as long as the motor will hold up. I will talk the price the down though.

If the R6 was ridden like it should be ridden to make enjoyable power...the bike was at 10k+ most of the time. Something to keep in the back of your mind when looking at 30k miles.

If properly maintained then you shouldn't have too much too worry about though. Make sure its something she wants and not something you want is my only piece of advice.

The price is decent being at a dealership that you trust and can work with. Can't hurt to go in low.

*disclosure* Huge fan of the R6 on the track...not so much on the street.

Thanks crash. I went to look at and there are some nicks and dings here and there so I would bid low. Her brother in law has an r6 and she likes it. I'm hoping with the new lines of cbrs out that the price will come down a little

06's had issues with oil pressure at idle. the newer motors have addressed that issue, but without having work done to an older motor, the problem can still rear its head. i have seen numerous 06-07's blow because of this issue.
