Today I woke up and it was awfully cloudy outside. Unfortunately i'm replacing the flywheel in my 2002 Golf GTI 337 right now therefore today my bike was my only means of transportation! It was a breezy 25 degrees outside!

dayum! I was complaining about riding in 42F the other night.... Got home and went straight to the shower! What was your cold weather gear? I just had a textile jacket with a liner (that I almost left at home) a sweat shirt, jeans and A* boots.....
cheese and rice thats freezing...thinking about it gets me chilly. Im so glad the temps dont go that low where i live. I ride my bike all year long, FUK WINTERIZING, id rather walk to places if i cant ride my bike.
I think the coldest it got here was around 60 something during winter.

Speaking of which, does anyone know of some decent winter gloves? I've been riding 30F mornings with no problems except for my hands losing feel of the clutch
The good news is that if it ever got that cold where I live there would be nowhere to go because the world would be ending!!!
I try not to ride if its below 60 but that's getting hard with winter approaching. My Benz needs new brakes, oil, and front tires. ($1,100 doing it all myself) so I'll just suck it up.

When i first saw this color a year ago, I knew i had to have it.
I thought about an FE like yours, but I like to keep it simple. It really doesnt look bad at all from behind, where most people see me from lol.
I just converted to the solo set-up not too long ago. Looks real good imo. Other than that, I'll add some white reflective rim tape and I think thats it. I'm not really into modifying bikes or cars.

September 2012 BOTM
I've been riding to work most days here still, in Omaha, Nebraska. Coldest was 18* one morning. It was staying around high 20s low-mid 30s for a little while. This is the first year I've ridden in temps that low. It really kills me to put the bike away so said I was going to try to push it a little deeper in the season than I have in the past.
I wear my Shoei RF1000 with my chin guard on. Really helps keep the cold air out of the helmet. Under 30* and I wear a River Road balaclava also. Keeps the air off my exposed neck for my 30 minute commute.
Upper body I wear a t-shirt, thermal, and Shift leather jacket with the liner. Surprisingly just that little bit keeps me warm.
I bought a pair of RS Taichi heat generator carbon gloves. (That is really the worst part for me riding in such cold temps. Keeping the tips of my fingers warm.) the gloves help a lot. But I'm mostly highway all the way to work so 75-80 mph for that long and my finger tips are starting to get a little numb when I get there. Much better though than the perforated summer Taichi gloves I also have.
Lower body I wear thermal pants and my Sartso jeans. Regular pair of socks and my Shift Kicker shoes. With all that the biggest problem I've had was the 18* morning. By the time I got to work the fingers were pretty numb and my feet were getting pretty cold. All the other mornings when it has been above that I have been fine though.
The cbr's tucked away for a few months now, but I'm still riding this winter on my dual sport. It's going to be a hell of a lot colder than 20 degrees too. I wear this alpinestars windproof and waterproof suit with just a hoodie underneath and a back protector on the outside. Keeps me toasty warm and it's perfect for winter riding, but is also good for just rain gear over your sport riding gear. No point of loosing riding time when you can further improve your riding skills on other bikes and terrain.
