is it against the law/illegal
is it against the law or an offence to just own a motorbike....this means not riding it ,, just ownership.

can u own a motorbike even if you dont have a liscence...obviously u cant ride it because that will be illegal..

is it against the law to own a bike? i know its against the law to ride one without insurance/tax/mot and liscence...but can i own one...simples lol

Really? As long as its not stolen then no. You can ride it around your yard w/o a license if you want to. The only thing illegal is getting on a PUBLIC street without a license and in some areas without insurrance

but u cant go into a bike shop and buy a bike? because they ask you for your driving liscence...but if u buy your friends bike for later use when all legal ...you can do this right? so you can own a bike that is registered in your name but not use it till your fully legal? correct? thnx

Of course you can own one!
The V5 registration document is not proof of ownership, it is the person responsible for taxing the vehicle. You can own the bike and not be the registered keeper, or you can be the registered keeper and not the owner.
If you are not using or riding the bike you have to SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) the bike using the V5, as you need to have the bike insured now if the bike is declared on the road, regardless of if you are using it.
Of course if its SORN and not insured, if it gets stolen, you loose the bike and get nothing back.
