7 numbers 823,54 combinations... 823,543 tickets ($2 a piece) $ 1,647,086 spend to win $305 mil....
Thus making it a investment than a gamble...
Not sure how you figured this out. Based on my friend google.com they figured this:
Tips from experts
• The odds of winning do not increase or decrease with the number of people who play. For the Powerball, there are roughly 175.2 million possible combinations of five white balls and one red Powerball.
• Picking the numbers yourself or having a lottery machine randomly select numbers does not increase your chances of winning. Records show about half of winners picked their own numbers and the other half had the computer do it.
• Picking numbers above 31 could decrease your odds of sharing a winning prize, as most people play some combination of their birth date.
• Picking numbers above 31 does not increase your odds of winning. Those are still 1 in 175.2 million.
• With all the possible combinations and with tickets costing $2 apiece, there is no way to buy every combination to ensure picking the winner and making money. The rough cost would be $350 million to buy all combinations. After taxes, the cash payout Wednesday is expected to be $327 million — less if the jackpot is split among multiple winners.
• The first thing you should do if you win is sign the back of your ticket, make a copy and put the ticket in a safe deposit box.

I have no idea how it works reason why I don't bother...
But Im not sure how many people change the odds of the winning numbers unless they add more ## per people playing...
I just did x to the x power to figure out how to cover every combination of numbers.
