I want something powerful and also has range so I was leaning toward the 300 ultra but I do a lot of work in Africa so I could use a 375 h&h for pretty much anything there. In the long run I'll probably get both or just the 375 and a 308, tough decisions.
Yea I'm not huge on hunting so I'm not sure exactly what game they have out there but ask around and see what the locals use and why.. If it were me I'd go 375 for game and a 308 for smaller and paper. Paper shooting isn't as much fun when it costs you about $5 to $10 a hole.
Thanks guys for the info on the 1911, now i have a better idea of what i might get. It will probable be for show like Bridge_Jumper said and also because the history behind the 1911. I do what it to function well just in case need. Thanks for your opinions!
And here is my AR15 lower that I just got done building
Palmetto State Armory stripped receiver and MOE parts kit
Still trying to figure out what I want to do for the upper

To answer your question: Yes! it is .22 made by GSG and imported by American Tactical Imports.
Prolly the most fun weapon i have ever shot accurate, quick and ammunition is dirt cheap. i would highly recommend getting one!!
Yea I'm really tempted if I get one I'd want it to be in 45 1 that will complete me having every (standard caliber 9mm, 45, 357, 22, 5.56, 7.62, x39) all ill need is a gun in 40 but I'm not a fan of that round. But I do have a CMMG 22LR for my Ar15 and thing is a ton of fun just to screw around with for a day on $20

Did you make the case for your 1911 yourself or did you get it somewhere that already had those cutouts in the foam?

one chambered in the 45 would be sweet! if you get one you have to send me a pic!
question for all...does anyone have any recommendations for an AR chambered in 7.62X39????
Yea will do.. Ill probably post every pick up now that I know this threads here haha
Taking a break to spoil my 08 a bit. Kind of neglected her in the last couple months while splurging on guns haha
Shopping list
GAP M40A4 (possibly gladious)
Browning O/U
Springfield LB Operator
MP5
AR Pistol
AR308 LR Build
Ruger MarkIII
And thy should be it for now haha.
And why do you want a AR in x39..?
i like the round. the abundance and the knock down power the 7.62x39 have. also i have a bit of a stock pile of 4k rounds that i am just spending with my ak. I have been curious about the piston platforms on the ARs but i would have to do research because i am not too familiar.
I have been looking at the AR308's pretty nasty I would get one if i had that kind of cash
With holiday sales quickly approaching, what do you guys think about the Springfield XD subcompact vs the glock 26. I have the XD but the glock is looking a little slimmer. Therefore, I might have to hand me down the XD to the wife.

I don't know if its anything like the glock 30 subcompact but I really liked it, also got the chance to shoot the H&K 45 sub machine gun style gun it was nice but not for me

Personally the ballistics of the x39 are horrid and you cant utilize the AR for what its made for with that round... I only went x39 to keep my AK a true AK for the most part.. And there is no such thing a knock down power just FYI.. the only thing one bullet has over another is penetration of materials and tissue damage.. There is no blunt force great enough for an actual "push" from a bullet even 12g slug.. It goes through you and just hurts like hell.
that being said if your set on a AR platform the calibers id recommend HIGHLY and probably only calibers id use to utilize for that platform (yea i get deep into this guns were an obsession for a good while) is the 6.5 Grendel, ***300 black out**** or the standard 5.56.
The black out is a 30 cal round like the x39 but with way better ballistics and its pretty hot right now Daniel defense makes great 300 BLK uppers..
the Grendel is more of a target shooting round with great velocity and ballistics more popular with target bench shooters.
the 5.56 is my caliber of choice because its the norm has decent ballistics and good tissue damage and it fragments in the body and walls.. also has a good following of different ammo companies and types of ammo for different uses.
That being said since you have a crap ton of x39 its understandable why you want to go with that.. But I say use it as an excuse to get the better calibers and let the Ar platform shine and have an excuse to buy more ammo
But if your dead set on x39 im not sure which companies make x39 uppers most probably will or specila order one.. but only companies i trust for AR platforms are daniel defense, BCM** (personal fav cheap and rugged and very well made), stag, spikes, LMT, La rou, LWCR (slightly pricey but nice rifles), Noveske (again slightly pricey but very clean well made and the name gets brownie points with the gun guys), OAK armorment, Rock river (slightly over priced for what you get IMO), smith and wesson,
pretty much in that order..
Hope that helps brotha.. Like I said I kinda of had an obsession with my firearms for a while and have put tons of net/book time to know whats on the up and up when buying and researching.
Well I couldnt wait... I just added this Glock 26 gen 4 to my XD 9. Im a big fan of the sub compacts. They fit my lady sized hands well. I already got my eyes set on the compact Walther.

Went in and got a good deal on my Kimber .45 so I picked up a ruger 10/22 also for a good price. Going to get a new stock and trigger job in the spring. Just picked up a 9x32 scope last week. Maybe a full auto receiver too...
