Where did you get it? I was looking at this helmet and wanted to be able to test fit it. If you don't mind, what price did you get it for too? When I was looking, it wad fairly pricey.
I have the same lid. Don't worry, it'll loosen up a little bit as long as it's just a little tight. Remember it has some adjustable pads in it. And be sure to install the pinlock lens if you experience fogging - it works like a dream.

I have only seen it two places in the US... once at a motorcycle show where I tried it on and there is a shop in CA that stocks them, not sure exactly where because I am in TX. This was also last year, so things could have changed since then.
Their website has a list of all of their vendors, see if one is close by.
i get it on ebay for 478 and when i buy it i didnt see that say new with defects but then when ive got it, it was brand new and no defects at all.....
yes is a little tight but hope with the use came lose, i think i dont have to use the extra material cos is when the helmet is little bit bigger right? but i love it any way LOL..
the only think i didnt like very much is the helmen bag and box and that is cos im a packing fan, i like when box have cool design like agv replicas, and the helmet bag is ok....but thats personal LOL....
i didnt use it yet cos i sell my first bike on sunday was the worse feeling but i have let her go and i hope tomorrow i will get an 07 600rr red with black and im very happy...

Was very close to buying one at a motorcycle show. Tried it on, felt light, comfortable - was practically sold until I found an arai vector 2 for $50 less then the xr1r.
If the xr1r was Snell rated, would have bought it. Tracks here in gta only allow helmets that are Snell 2010 rated.

Wow, really? That sucks because there are valid reasons to avoid Snell certification.
While better after their 2010 revision, the Snell standard requires a thicker shell to be met, which can lead to a greater incidence of concussion for smaller headed riders (to meet the 'multiple hits to the same point' test, a test that has come under fire for it's real life merit.) I prefer ECE rated helmets, as I have a smaller head.
It's true. ECE is good and even the new snell 2010 rating was changed to more match ece standards. A softer helmet that can withstand less Gs to actually absorb the impact better.
Snell is good, but so is ece. Ece I think tests more helmets also, but don't quote me on that one.
I know ECE 22.05 certified helmets are in fact lighter weight wise than DOT helmets most of my AGV GP TECH were bought from Europe and they are lighter than the one I bought here in the US. check out this article about ECE 22.05 standards http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc.../ece-22-05.htm
