People trying to prep last minute and all hell braking loose, if the world is really going to end why stock up on ammo an ****, I will stock up on booze and rubbers because if Im gunna die its gunna be blacked out and between the legs of the nearest girl I could find!!

I don't think the sun will explode, nor will "planet x" hit earth, nor will the earth start going through abnormal changes or shifts. What is absolutely possible and actually predicted by scientists months ago are solar sun flares, but nothing to the point of disaster.
If we did end up getting a zombie apocalypse, I'm all stocked up on ammo and pretty much as prepared as I can be. I know many others are too, but don't forget that ammo will only last so long. Invest in melee weapons as soon as possible and play some dead island like I have for practice.

03cbr is right! Solar flares are very likely to be causing a bit of trouble over the next few years until the "Solar maximum" cycle dies off again. It's an 11 year cycle that just happens to be predicted at the same time the Mayan calendar ROLLS OVER ( NOT ENDS!) Just thought i'd stress that!
Also, it is my understanding that the "Solar maximum" we are experiencing now is actually one of the weakest in over 9000 years, and whilst may cause disruptions to our tech reliant world, is nothing in comparison to the cycles of the past 3 centuries.
If anything happens, it will be man made by all these loonies running around who would be inclined to believe pigs could fly if your political leaders told you so. Such leaders, and media included control the population through fear, and this 2012 malarky, well, it's the best fear instilling rumour yet.
