Got Rear ended by another rider

Few months ago Me and 10 buddies Headed down to Bikes on the bricks in flint Michigan. After getting there hanging out for a bit I got a hold of another rider from the area to meet up with him and his friends. We no longer pull out of the parking lot where we meet up with the local rider, And it happened. We were rolling with about 30 bikes I was the 5th bike from the front. Come up to a light it turns yellow the first 3 bikes go through. Me and the guy in front of me start stopping. We were going about 45mph started slowing down go to about 10-15 mph and Got hit hard from the back. I Had just taken my feet off the pegs. I was able to keep it up and swerve around the guy in front of me. I ended up about 5 feet into the intersection. The story from those further back is he speed up thinking we were running it. By the time he realized we were stopping and hit his brakes he was only 10-15 feet behind me. They say he was probably still going close to 40. Anyways he locked em up and slid into my bike kinda sideways. My tire took most the impact.

His bike is completely ruined Head light was laying in the road. foot pegs shifter all busted off. Had to have a truck come and get his bike.

My bike did much better but still not good. He hit my tire so hard my tire actually moved forward causing my chain to be extremely loose. Where the chain adjusters thread into the swing arm in bowed in. Got a nice scratch in my freshly powdered swing arm. Cracked my rear set and busted up my tail section.

But on a good note this made me bite the bullet and do the 05 06 tail swap I've been wanting to do.

He only has PLPD as do I. This was his second down within a month. And the part the bowed is the flat section on the swingarm with the hole the adjuster threads into.

Ya. Sucks but Michigan Insurance is ridiculous.

Nice that you kept it up and avoided your fellow rider! Sorry about the damage to the bikes! :(

Did he help with costs?

When I was less experienced I took out a buddy that crossed into my path. No fun but I made sure his bike was fixed ASAP!
