This thing is awesome! If you have a back pain going on after a long day of riding this clip-on might help you cause it sure did help me.
With a few minor modifications it works great. I relocated the brake res (shown in photo), grind the stock brake res mount off of the master and everything clears the way. I got the 50mm clamp from convertibars since they don't make a 48mm. Then I had a friend of mine machine a 2mm aluminum shim out of a aluminum block (check photo). These shims will be available soon, 2-3 weeks time.
Pulled it back about a quarter way from the stock position and up about 2 inches. This is way better than stock, for me at least.
Awesome. I always loved the idea of these. Really wish they had a finished kit, but good job getting it done. So no clearance issues after your work, and the stock brake/clutch lines allowed for the rise?
No clearance issues for me. I re-routed the the wires for the light controls and the kill switch. Instead of having the wire go around the fork tube, I just re-routed em back. Also I have SS brake lines so I do know if the stock line extends that high. Convertibars will have those shims available soon as my buddy makes em. I'll post on here once they are available.
For the brake fluid reservoir, I'm using a ladybird reservoir stay and can be purchased here: http://www.superbikesupply.com/mm5/m...Category_Code=
Check attached photos for reference about re-routing the control wires.
Also, the brake reservoir mount on the master cylinder is gone. I used a dremel tool to grind it off.
I'm not a dealer of convertibars, I just got the hook up.
Sick Innovations (I'm assuming you mean SI, not FTI).
I tried to get a set of the 905s for my F4i (w/ 600RR forks) and it ended up being a two month long goose chase that involved me paying for parts that hadn't even been made (which I wasn't told for over a month). Needless to say, I won't be ordering them.
Damn 2 months is too long...Last time I talked to Aaron and Steph (last year) they were on the process of makin those adjustable clip-on. I jumped on convertibars and talked to www.50stunt.com to make me those shims. Ryan Moore is close by so the shims were done in a day after talking to him. Those SI clip-ons are nice and solid too. Good stuff Ian got going for sure!
I'm talking about the risers from FTI. A buddy of mine from Seattle got one of those and he's having problems with the fitment of the handbrake kit.
I called to talk to him about getting a pair of 48mm adjustables, he was like, "no problem! It'll take about a week, since they're custom sizes." I had no problem with that. Made the payment over the phone and started waiting. A month later, I called him and he told me, "next week, man, next week." Two weeks go by. Same thing. A week later I told him I'd just take a pair of 50s and shim them. Turns out, they weren't ready either. They, literally, had ONE pair, the demo models they were showing off and taking people's money for. He decided to mail them to me to run until mine were ready, then we'd switch. They came in and where nice pieces, but, due to the design, where a NIGHTMARE trying to setup. Sent them back for a refund, which had to be done via a mailed check since it had been so long. It was, honestly, closer to three months, I just rounded down.
Ryan makes AWESOME stuff. Honestly, if he's going to be making those shims, I'd consider getting some 50mm SIs and shimming them, just because they'd be easier to sell if I ever wanted to.
Yea Ryan saved the file, as I told him. Hit him up for a pair if you want em'. Email him though for faster reply. That ninja rarely answers his phone cause the shop is loud when he's machining some stuff. So give him a buzz for those shims...
Hey zypher, would you mind letting us know how the Convertibars have worked out, now that you've (presumably) been using them for a few months? Any issues? The clamps and shims hold tight?
I'm thinking about getting the bars on my '12 600rr for a more upright position when practicing low-speed proficiency course riding. I would slide them back down for normal street riding (and eventually track).

The bars have been great to me. Long rides with no problems ever since I had them on the bike. I will PM you as soon as I get the sale code. They had a promo few weeks ago and I forgot to post up on here...darnnnit!..
Sorry for the late reply...
Have any of you guys heard of a Honda CB1000R, Yamaha FZ1, FZ8, Kawasaki Z1000, Ducati Monster, or Ducati Street Fighter?

Thank you for purchasing a 600rr as your first bike.
The odds are strong that you will successfully add to our classified section and help lower parts prices

I'll go ahead and quote myself from a previous post. Wouldn't want your constructive comment to go unanswered.
