I bought mine from a Honda dealership in Ruislip and mine seems perfect so far. I personally wouldn't want to purchase a new bike only for it to come to me with 5miles on it lol.
Something fulfilling about knowing you put the 1st mile on the odometer.
lol suit yourselves, i'd rather know it'd do the next 5zillion miles(as per honda guidlines it should LOL...ok i made that up), 0.2 does that even get it off the showroom floor to the road...for the 'road' test...suspension, gears etc how can you do all that in 0.2miles...i used knutsford honda for all my stuff before they closed, they got a 1988 bike that was absolutely buggered to showroom condition and didnt charge me a cent extra despite working on it an entire day instead of an hour, if you ask me thats what i want not half arsed they disagreed with honda telling them what they should do so they split off but i think were then bought out, real dedication from those guys, cunts(or hunts if you like) motorcycles didnt even look at me, knutsford bent over backwards once to get me riding a bike off the floor same day, stayed opened and worked late to get it done, there was nobody else waiting just me
The fact that it is new is the most important thing for me, knowing that im the only one that has rode it, cleaned it and serviced it where possible... The thought that someone else may have been thrashing around on it pisses me off thats why i was never really happy with my 600rr... Great bike, fast had the looks but it just felt to second hand like it wasn't really mine....
When i do have the money i will probably get another for track days....

Sounds a bit like a disorder to me haha, but the bike makers will like you lol, how many miles did your 600rr have when you got it, in the grand scheme of how long a honda lasts couldn't have been a drop in the ocean, i know what you're saying though, it's nice to buy a new bike, but for me new bike prices isn't worth that feeling unless im rich, not yet sadly...
was just thinking a 2011 GSXR750 would be a nice bike to trash and commute with and keep outside, and keep my nice 600rr tucked in bed for weekends, only space in the landlords garage for my bike with all their crap, need my own place, i could get 4 bikes comfortably in most garages if I had my own, i checked and to have a 400 to have fun with only another £150 per year in insurance compared to my £1200 odd for my 600rr by itself

I hear ya!
And then, when you first drop it, you totally dont give a shiz anymore and its time to by a new bike hahaha

id never buy new for the simple reason that id probably drop it within that first 5 miles. tht would really bend my ego so i rahter buy second hand and save money and prestige, lol
Btw it actually had 1 mile on the clock when i picked it up last night (gutted) as you can see now it has 33 or so thats from riding it home. I shall give a full account of my findings later
So i picked my new R1 up yesterday evening, only had chance to ride her home and now I've spent a couple of hours today getting used to her….
How do i compare my new R1 to my Cbr600rr?? Well thats simple, you can't there just worlds apart…
Riding home was a little scary, brand new tyres and all that power comes a bit of a shock so getting home last night in one piece was my goal. Out early this morning, weather was sunny but very cold but one thing that really surprised me is how well it takes corners, it feels like its just planted to the road and nothing could possibly interrupt its path. This gave me great confidence and surly when the warm weather arrives next year I'll be knee dragging around even the sharpest bends. The power is just immense even though i have her set on Standard Mode and I've finally found what I've been missing "mid range power", thank you lord…..
Ive really enjoyed myself today and I'm in no doubt that its going to take me some time and many miles of riding before i get used to her or put her in A Mode. Oh and did i mention the noise, even with two standard pipes the sound is like thunder, i could listen to that noise day in day out for the rest of my life and die happy….

sounds awesome, I really want a 1000 now, I want to see what all this fuss is about mid-range power lol.
are you going to get the suspension properly set for yourself?
I'll hopefully get to hear it next season
Mate i rode all the way through Wigan where i got it from in 1st gear, it was so smooth but i did nearly poop myself today riding out to Northwich. On a dual carriage way i was plodding along at 65mph in 4th gear, ( i know i was in 4th because the gear indicator was telling me) when an M3 flew past me. I thought fvck that and opened the throttle, to my complete shock the front wheel starts lifting off the ground. Won't be doing that again in a hurry. On the way back i put it in A mode (sport mode) and after about half a mile i decided to switch it back to standard, far to much power just yet...
The mid range is out of this world, trust me, whichever 1000 you go with whether it be a Blade, R1 or ZXR you will love it. Don't get me wrong the 600rr is a great bike but it feels like ive just gone from a Civic type r to an M5...
I will be changing the cans first mate when i have some money...
this guy can set your stock suspension for £25, I did it & it made a huge difference, mine was too soft at stock, worth a look mate. what cans you going for?

Thanks for the link mate and at that prices i might be contacting him very soon...
I shall be adding 2 Akrapovic's when funds allow it, hopefully early next year....

dude go to rochdale honda and test ride the fireblade(08+) trust me, it'll be the closest litre bike to the feeling of your 600rr so you can fully evaluate that grunt rather than try get used to all new controls and seating etc, everything was exactly the same on the 08 blade to my 08 600rr, except the power so i knew where everything was so no time spent wondering where the indicator is etc...he just handed me the keys and said bye....(if you want an R1 after that well...your choice haha)
tell him brett with the red and white 600RR-8 sent you and i will be there soon for the 16k service and i want it done as good as always when i do :) although bmw has stopped test rides already so you may be a bit late till next year
and a fix for MadMatt...again...haha;
That bike looks like it's saying "What you lookin' at!" lmao...im not getting litre till insurance companies blow up and die...or charge me less that'll probably be sooner
Good point! Im already contacting them about test rides as well(motorcycle live people) and so far it looks good, basically don't drink it seems :) I'd be happy if that's all I do just jump from one to the other Haha, also hopefully see some of the pros up close, crutchlow was there last year, riding at 5pm its dark these days so rocking the clear visor again lol...
Would be nice if I was rocking an Arata slipon by then but still need a few hundred, want it mapped same time and trying to get a car licence finally
...sent from my 2008 Honda CBR600RR-8 while riding(or the motorcycle app).
Nice , I've just put my tri colour 600rr back to standard and will be putting it up for sale shortly, either going for a repsol blade or a zx10r I think . Had 3 600rr's and an r6 so time to see what all the fuss is about :-)

4 wheels move the body, two wheels moves the soul!!
Does anyone race oulton park? You may see rochdale honda's main bloke racing a fireblade...I like chatting to him he actually knows what he's talking about

Ive been around Oulton Park a few times mate, although ive not been there for sometime now, about 12 years. Websters a small bike shop in Crewe used to drive their van around the track after each race picking up the crashed bikes ready for the next race and i would be onboard the van. Loved every minuet of it as i got to miix it in the paddock with the racers..
We would arrive early and were allowed to do a few laps on our own bikes, the last time i did this i had an FZR 400......
I shall try and get there a few times next years as its not far....
