Not everyone happens to have 800 dollars to drop on a slip on though, for a 1-3 hp gain, that's a whole lotta cash for not a lotta stuff :-\. I couldn't justify spending that much on a slip on, now a full system sure, but on the streets where I ride a full system isn't worth the money.
Here where I live everyone and their mother swears by TBR and just think they are so god damn cool, lol. I don't, I don't like they way they look and the quality just doesnt seem very good, IMHO. Plus I like to have things that not many others have.
I've had multiple people talk to me and my buddy (who had a TBR on his 04 1000rr) which exhaust they should get and everyone liked the sound of my leo far better than his. However, it is all up to you. The best way by far to get any sort of decision is to hear as many as you can. And make the decision for what you want to get.
If you buy right you can get a slip on for far under $800. Given the arata's are $1,000 for a slip on, if you message a vendor here I bet you can get a yosh for under $300 and a Leo for under $350.
Everybody has a two bros here in north Colorado too. Personally, I think most people like them here because they are just plain loud. I had a 2bros cf on my K8 Gsxr and the carbon was already giving in and it was relatively new. The yoshi rs3 on my k5 gsxr sounded a lot better if you ask me. I like to be different as well. a lot of casual rideds have only heard of two bros and yoshi here. They haven't even heard of akra or leo.. And you know leo and altar comes from a family of good pipes when they are used in SBK and motogp.
Edit: That's MHO

Aw sorry. Well maybe it was just the Leo my buddy had. Haha. But that one sounds good.
If I was in the market. I sell my two bro, and get hex akrprovic . Yeah buddy

Yeah the ones I was talking about are the Akra, and Arata.. the higher quality stuff, for slip ons I couldn't justify it, Yoshi and Leo are some of the best ones I've heard all day on any super bike for the lower end slips. I hear Jardines are good which is actually what I was gonna replace my Leo with when it wears out. But with how good the Leo sounds I'm not so sure anymore.
Had a friend that put an RS-5 on his 2011, it sounded titties

Hey let's not call them lower end slips! Let's call them "cost effective." Lol yoshi and leo are probably some of the lowest priced slip ons but Leo's are used often in motogp and sbk. You don't see yoshi as much there but I've seen them used often in supercross..I'm pretty damn sure they are partnered and favor Suzuki's though.
I'll probably go akra next time though:) arata would be my choice but $1000 for a slip on isn't exactly what I'm looking to spend. And they are kinda ugly. But the sound makes up for it.

The Following User Says Thank You to JohnDoubleR For This Useful Post:
What you really need to get is a Akrapovic it is the best slip-on you can get for the 600rr and looks great, iv got one on mine and all my riding friends wish they have got one to when they saw mine, cant go wrong with Akrapovic.
cbr604, you're a douche. NOBODY said anything offensive or disrespectful and you come off with blatent ignorance. Don't kill yourself on your bike. Spare the machine. Its obvious you're a wanna be E-Thug. Your mother should have swallowed you.
I started out going between yosh & Jardine but now I'm also adding the akra possibility into the mix. Marquez & company run it on the moto 2 effort. Probably good enough for my 600cc motor as well haha.
Speaking about racing, I never heard of arrow until this site but I'm pretty sure they're damn good pipes as well.

Never seen one on a cbr 600 but the arrow kit on the 1kr is pretty sweet. It is GP style with one can under the seat & another can out the right side. The arrow sounds really mean on the triumphs.
I had a Mugen slip on my last RR. It looked very nice, was lighter and sounded awesome, but my current bike is stock and I'm equally happy. It attracts less attention, which I like. I think it actually looks a lot better than some of the aftermarket cans, too. If somebody gave me slip-on for free, I'd be happy with whatever it was except for a couple of designs that should never have left the drawing room. I've found aftermarket rearsets, levers and other bits and pieces are much more practical, make me more comfortable and help me ride better. Given unlimited money, I'd throw on a full system to lighten the bike up even more, but since I'm not loaded, I can think of about a bazillion better ways to spend my cash..
How much did you pay for the Mugen? Never seen one for sale on any website just the official Mugen site and they are not cheap.
I'm pretty sure on biohazardcycles I saw an arrow gp2 listed fitting 09-11. I wonder how it sounds like. I'm not exactly a fan of the dual can though

I thought it looked cool as it was being installed on a Repsol 1kr when I was at the dealer one time. I don't think it's something I would install but it looked so different from any other system & just seamed fitting for the repsol model. I haven't seen another system like that since.
Different is good. The gp bikes are set up that way and I'm pretty sure the system they were installing at the dealer that day you were there is the replica system of what they use on gp bikes. Feel like it'd be extra weight on a 1k though since that extra steel wasn't there before. Then again, that extra weight is not going to make a difference unless you're competing at the highest level lol

Ya it's definitely a GP replica system & looked good on the repsol. Idk about the weight tho. Think it might be an even swap with the original system. If you've seen the system the exhaust tubing is really small as are the cans.
Most of the race teams in Moto2 and World Supersport are running Akrapovic, Leo Vince or Arrow systems. Depending on whether the exhaust routing etc has changed you maybe waiting until at least the first part of the new year to see what the manufacturers produce for the 2013 CBR600RR.

From what I'm being told the 13 won't be in until end of February beginning of March. From what I've seen the exhaust isn't radically different from past cbrs so I'm thinking sometime in late spring we may see exhaust popping up for it.
Toce is the sexiest and has a great sound but the RS5 has the best sound, unfortunately it's also a little big and blocks your tail light if you have an integrated tail
