Okay everyone so it finally happened to me. Two days ago I was leaving work and I didn't expect it to be so cold out that night but it was about 30 degrees fahrenheit and I was turning onto the main street and I was only going about 5 or 10mph because obviously my tires and ground were cold and the bike slid out from under me. I flipped over the handle bars and landed face first and scraped the whole front of my helmet and both shoulders of my jacket. Good news is all of my gear worked exactly how it was supposed to and the only injury I got from it was a scraped knee which my jeans obviously didn't protect. Bad news is all the plastics on the left side are pretty much scraped or cracked but the frame slider definitely helped a lot. I've started the bike about 5 times since then and 2 out of the 5 times I've started it the bike makes this really loud knocking sound but literally once I rev it it goes away. It idles fine and revs fine but those 2 times it knocked randomly. Nothing is leaking and all of the fluid levels are perfect. If anyone has any input on what it could be it would be greatly appreciated thanks!
Yeah I'm really hoping that it doesn't do it again and it'll just go away forever but I highly doubt that that will happen. If it stops and doesn't happen again i'm only looking in about a grand of damage which isn't too bad
Sorry everyone maybe not a grand worth I might have been over exaggerating from being pretty angry from the whole thing haha maybe Like 500 or 600 but I can't get to work and ordering new parts until I find out what this sound is that's coming from the right side of the bike
I'm not sure it may have been gravel the exit to where I work usually has some dirt there especially since they are paving all of the roads surrounding it so maybe something from the trucks. My helmet is just scratched on the visor and where the air comes in by your mouth do you guys think I need a new helmet? It still seems to fit fine and its not chipped or anything it's just scratched a bit.

Never hurts to get a new one. You never want to compromise an important piece of gear.
If the helmet made any contact with the ground its very advisable to replace. They are made for a single impact.
As far the knock...are you sure it was just from the fluid being on its side? Have you let it idle for an extended period of time?
I talked to a couple people on the troubleshooting threads and they all said they think its the cam chain tensioner ( I put up a vid so everyone could hear it) so now I'm going to replace that once my local dealer opens up tomorrow

Sorry I don't have any pics I've been so busy the past few days and when I finally had time to take it apart I just went right to it. There really wasn't and crazy damage because the frame slider saved most of it basically all the left fairings need to be replaced either bad scratched or cracked and the headlight assembly is all cracked because it slid under some big branches on the side of the road. That's the bike apart if that helps at all. I'll take some pics tomorrow of whats broken and messed up tomorrow night when I clean everything up
