Bike that won't fall down

Just saw this BBC video report on a new electric bike that can't fall down by itself, or when bumped into with a decent, but not massive, amount of force. I don't like everything they say about it, but it's an interesting concept to deal with traffic congestion. What do you think?

Definitely an interesting concept. I don't know if you could really classify it as a bike though. It's kind of like a bike/car hybrid.

"It takes the romance and efficiency of a motorcycle with the safety and the comfort of a car."

Honestly, this statement seems contradictory to me. I think one of the things that makes bikes interesting to a lot of us is the risk, or at least the perception of risk, and the lack of comfort in that you need to be exposed to the elements to some degree.

Still, it could open the market to people who aren't looking for those things. More 2-wheeled vehicles on the road would hopefully mean more familiarity from non-riders and less bad driving around bikes. The tech (gyros) could be useful in some types of bikes (I'm thinking big scooters for people who are worried about tipping) or cruisers if they could set a lean limit to avoid scraping pegs/exhausts and reduce crashes.

It's definitely not for me, but it's interesting and I think electric is going to go from being the future to being the present soon enough, at least for city commuters.

You can click on the "tear up the streets" link in the description to see a YouTube video. Too bad the bike is discontinued though.

so if those gyros fail which they will your gonna be on your side and be the laughing stock of every one. And its not like you can get home by balancing it yourself nope Ill stick to my motorcycle at least if I get hit which I have (thank you drunk driver) I can get up get my bike start it up and drive away and ride another day. If you get hit with a SUV in that because it sits too low your fucked ran over and dead.
