For those of you who listen to them, the whole album is up to hear here. Great black metal from Sweden.

yeah, sorry about that. I reminded him this morning and he responded saying he's in a tight spot this week and then like 2 mins later he says fuckit and he's back in.
This is a make-up show from when they were supposed to come during Halloween but the hurricane came through and they backed out. Machine Head was also in the line up but they've been having trouble lately and backed out like halfway through the tour.

Yeah, that 4-5 hour drive is a doozy. Made a trip from Norfolk to Philly twice the weekend before and it's not the funnest. Lots of boring scenery after a while one stretch looks just like another.

And Megadeth w/In Flames/Children of Bodom/Job for a Cowboy/High on Fire
(Gigantour3 '08)

The Gojira/log/Metallica show i went to was the one where that girl was kidnapped that made national news that metallica offerd a reward for info here in Charlottesville VA. We havnt had a metal show at that arena since which pisses me off FML

I work security at that arena among others now and there is tons of crazy theories about that night. One even involves a crooked cop (which my family has had a shady experience with) because they found her in a field near where he lived and he was involved in the investigation. Not long after he took his own life.

Here is the story on wiki. Its sad but in my opinion would therehave been just as much media coverage if it was a poor random girl

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morgan_Dana_Harrington

It sucks that there has been no metal show there since, but ive worked stage security for a Rick Ross show since haha

Wow...sad to hear that there's been no closure for her family. Nice thing to do on Metallica's part by adding to the reward.

Wow, I haven't been in hear for some time. It is absolutely awful to hear about this little girl, first time hearing about it. Kudos to Metallica on offering a reward indeed.

Rick Ross ehh Ink, niiiice

So he actually pushed the teenager off stage, and the kid died of his injuries?

I've picked back up playing again with my cousin (drums) and his buddies that play local bars. My cousin has drastically improved his drumming. We've been playing a lot of log again. Their intros are second to none it just grabs you in the chest and off you go. Last night we covered most of the palaces burn album. I love the drum intro on devil in gods country that **** gets me pumped plus its about living in in the south which I'm all to familiar with we grew up not too far from Richmond where log is based out of. So many great songs on that album. Gods country, 11th hour, and my personal favorite vigil. I love that evil melodic feel to it. Next time we play ill record it and post it here from YouTube.

LOL at this thread.....I used to go to metal shows all the time in high school when tickets used to be cheap.

Just wanted to throw it out there that I got fake ejaculated on and fake blood in my hair at a GWAR show back in the day. I wonder if they still do that? Was a b*tch to wash out because I had bleached the h*ll out of my hair to platinum.

That sounds great, eagerly awaiting that vid.

The first ever L.O.G riff I heard was the intro to Laid to Rest, was watching 'Metal: A Headbanger's Journey' for the very first time. You all have to check it out if you haven't done so already.

this thread died a little but figured id share.. when riding and looking for motivation i listen to "Impending Doom" they are probably wayyy too heavy for the typical metal guys but they do it for me. the blast beats get me going and the breakdowns make me push myself so much harder. my buddy had a bit of a music project going but hasn't produced a whole lot. ill post up one of his songs for you guys maybe some one will dig it. i think the song hits me a harder than most because being a friend of mine i know the back story but give it a listen.
