Alright i have a 2011 600rr and i was wondering what teeth count front or rear sprockets you guys were running? i dont really run anything over 100mph regularly i really just care for acceleration. any input would be appreciated.
Stock is 15 front , 42 rear you got two options if you want to increase acceleration off the get go you can either go down one tooth in the front (cheaper) or go up 3 three teeth in the back both will have the same effect you will end up loosing some speed at the top but since you ain't going over 100 the loos would not bother you too much. The other issue to decide is do you want to stick to the 530 (OEM ) or go to the 520 ( lighter sprocket ) if you do mostly street riding the 530 will last longer as its a thicker sprocket so it does not get beat up easily like the 520
Alright man, well i have a friend with a -2, +3 set up and he said its incredibly quick. whats the sweetspot and whats too much? from my motorcross background i know not to go to far or ill be at the top of 6th at 60 mph lol..
Mine aren't ready to be changed yet but ill prolly go with the -1,+2 when I have to. There is absolutely no need to go over 100 miles an hour on 95% of all roads most of us ride and most people really seem to dig the -1,+2

-1,+2 seems to be the winner. i really just ride corners and sweeps when i can but work full time and school full time limit how often i ride. so that seems the most economical solution.

You can run a 530 though on a CBR 600RR if you want it to be super long lasting. IT's the same part numbers as the 1000RR.
If it's a street bike I would recommend something like the Driven superlight steel evo-spec chain kit with the ek mvxz chain. Super long lasting sprockets and chain and priced very well. The quality of these rear sprockets is great. I would do a -1 in the front and +2 in the rear if you want good bottom end gain and rarely go over 100mph. It will rev a hair higher, but this is the most popular gearing for the street guy who doesn't top his bike out and doesn't want it so twitchy like a stunter, but just wants some more bottom end gain with still keeping it streetable.

stock here is none of the suggestions ours on uk models is 16 front and 41 rear, i've gone 16F 42R same pitch(525) and this has meant same chain length and still economical but just ever so slightly more pull(only ever riding bikes i was able to notice it but im sure most wont)

Yup i just saw this. I just got the superlight steel driven
kt from motomummy but i kept my stock gearing. If you change your gearing be sure to order a speedo drd too cause your speedo will be off. The drd is an easy install though. I just kept stock gearing because i commute too.

Renthal is only imported into the US with alum rear sprockets. So if you compare that to the Driven alum rear sprocket they are both great quality. The main difference is the Renthal only comes in gray as they haven't started adding dye to their anodizing to color it black like Driven has. That is just for coloring though. So other then looks they are the same quality and pretty much the same thing.
However, Driven Racing also makes the superlight steel evo spec rear sprockets. They do weigh a bit more, but will last longer as they are steel. For the street rider who doesn't care about a tad extra weight this is the way to go. You can't compare it to Renthal though as they don't import their steel rears into the US. Vortex makes a good quality superlight steel rear sprocket that is also good though.

No it's just that we have to deal with our stupid 65mph (105 km/h) speed limit. In my state (Oregon) going over 100mph is a felony. If you exceed 100 mph, you may get a $1,150 fine and suspension of driving privileges up to 90 days.
If that's all they will allow us to do then might as well gear it for more grunt out of the whole.
On the other hand I think Texas has a highway that allows them to go 85mph ( 137 km/h) but that is not the norm.
