It doesn't rattle. Just not so smooth below 2k. But it's very smooth with tons or torque above that.

If you've got the money man the 1199 wouldn't be a bad buy. i have to say the 1000rr will never leave you stranded and is a phenomenal bike.. id scratch the v4 idea and honestly im not incredibly impressed with ktm, give them a few years to work out the small issues. I have read up a lot on the rsv4 and cant really figure them out, I have read awful articles that would make me never buy one and others that have glorified it. Nobody ever regrets their rr..

If i didn't have my R1 i would give serious thought to a bmw s1000rr, the Hp4 is well out of my price range...

meh for the track maybe...otherwise honda midrange woops it's ass to 10k rpm i tried to test one but they've got a blanket rule that rules me out, they also won't put that whats-a-ma-thingy mode(the one that removes any and all restrictions and gives you full power on everything, salesman said better put slicks on first and be on a track) on for test rides either but once you buy it they'll give you the chip and say what you do is up to you, he mentioned most people give them back as it's too much for them, i think that says something about bmw riders rather than saying anything about the rest of us but there you go

I'm thinking between the S1000RR (not HP4, but earlier model) and a 1000RR Blade. They both seem very good bikes. A friend was saying his ZX10 is great, but I don't think I could get into buying a Kiwi. And like another rider commented, the RSV4 seems like a gamble :| some say its the best bike and .... others say its terrible.
And the Panigale 1199 is 22k OTD at most dealerships on the prairies but that's the base model. I sat on a few this past summer and man they feel sic!!!! But the price is unreal for them lol!!! but I could finance one for two or three years easily but having to deal with all the services

And what about the MV Augusta's F4? I bet trying to find a seat cowl would be next to impossible. Such a rare bike

I think, if you aren't going to get an exotic aka Ducati, BMW, MV Agusta, KTM etc... Nothing beats an 09+ R1. Cross-plane motors sound so damn good, and lets be honest, the fit and finish of Yamaha's are just great.

My friend just got an F4rr. Not a fan. A lot of $ for an aging design. Doesn't stack up in the shoot outs either. He also has an 1198 corse tri color. I'd take that over the F4rr.

That`s what I thought everyone would say, lol!! The color and bike looks hella sick, but paying for the bike/parts would be brutal.

And I just can't get with the R1's at all, maybe I'm a tard , probably ....

Anyone else here like Aprilias? I chose the CBR over the Tuono mainly due to parts availability. But I still miss riding something unique.

i have an 04 RSV1000r its an awesome bike. parts can be a bit difficult if you dont have any dealer support in your area. but i bought parts from it from a local supplier with no issues.

Do you remember what mode you had it in?? Mine is still on standard mode for now as thats more than enough, A mode is scary fast...
I think it was A but can't remember. I didn't play with too many buttons. Thought i saw A on the screen. The vibration almost felt like a clutch chatter, didn't know some tweeks to the ecu could smooth that out. It's crazy to have that much torque off the get go. IF , I were to get a 1K I would test ride a few but i do like the CBR 1K. Im fine with my 600 so ill focus on paying that off!

thats why i love riding a 1k!! when i got the cruiser, it had to be a big bore. you should feel the torque of a 1500cc shaft drive nomad. lol

Love my 11' 1000rr. Its just the natural progression to go bigger over time when you start out at the small side of things. My neighbors 10' R6 feels just as big if not bigger. The honda is comfortable.

I have a 2013 CBR1000RR right now. I am going to get arrested.

They're just too damn fast and easy. You don't really need to shift much, you just lazily open up the throttle and lol your way down the road on one wheel.

I prefer my 600RR. More fun to work with the engine.

EDIT: I don't agree that it's a natural progression. Maybe because I'm lucky enough to have ridden so many bikes, but I love the feeling of a 600. I am dying to ride a CBR250R, I still haven't had the chance.
