I wanted to build mine so I can say it is all mine and one of a kind. My next build will take longer and use different parts because I just wanted to get this one done.
Question for the Cali guys. When I got my lower I asked if I had to register it with the state because once it is done it will be an AR. They told me I didn't because it counts as a long gun. I have looked a little and can't find an answer. It just seems that this type of "loop hole" would have been thought about by this state. And if it is true it seems like building your own is better because you get out of having to register it.

Im still undecided whether to buy one complete or build it.
Build. You'll know your rifle inside and out. You will also end up with exactly what you want in the end rather than paying extra money to modify a factory rifle. Just be careful, building them is addicting.

California does not require registration on long guns.

I know you don't have to register a long gun. I just finished doing more reading and it just seems weird that it is considered a long gun when something that is pretty much exactly the same thing is banned because it is considered an assault rifle.

Welcome to komifornia and idiot legislation...
There is no fact on why DPMS or bushmasters are illegal they are no different than any other but media and idiotic anti gunners are scared of what they don't know so they ban them...
Expect bushmaster rifles to hit the ban list too with the media claiming EVERY gun to be a bushmaster in the last 3 shooting... I find that hard to believe but they always seem to show this is a bushmaster "type" rifle no its not its a f**king AR 15.....
And your cant make any lowers a pistol it has to already be registered as a pistol lower before you buy it... So you have no choice but to legally make it a long gun or register it as a SBR.
Nice combo. I have the OD 5" 45acp with Viridian SXD and my OD sub 40 xd has c5l from Viridian. Can't go wrong
thanks def is a good combo just for when **** hits the fan..not zombie Apocalypse wise but, lets face it the world especially America is on a self destruct spiral.i'll be ready when and if it happens in my life, 400rds 45ACP/1000rounds 5.56
Dammit went to go but my G19, and I have to wait maybe a few more days for a further background review !! Bs ! Maybe cause I just turn 21.
....waiting game now
just be thankful..I waited 10 mnths(with military backround/experices blah blah even sent in my DD214 with application) in Upstate NY, NYC is well over a year for a pistol and cost around 400$ every 3yrs to re register. and an Upstate NY permit is not valid in NYC even though its a NY State pistol permit...

True,, I should. Cause in ak. We don't have to go thru Any of those crazy forms. Usually. I can walk out the same day as I purchase it .
Yeah . That's the same up here. But when he called them. They said they need further review , cause I just turn 21 yesterday. My records clean tho. Only traffic tickets
Same here just full out a few forms on a computer sign here date there then they call up a background check place (I think) and make sure my record is clean and then I'm out. Takes about 20-30 minutes and I'm out the door

If you can find a complete AR for a decent price, that is what I suggest.
The problem with building one at our current state of hysteria is finding parts IN STOCK for your build. Parts are scarce and getting harder and harder to find. If you can find a BCG or Lower Parts kit in stock, let me know.
I have 2 AR builds that are going very slow because of all the hysteria going on right now. Until it all calms down, finding parts will be hard to do.
hello
any lifetime member can 'sponsor' anyone & gift them @ 10$ annual rate/300$ lifetime rate. any member that's a lifetime member is capable of helping others out like this
i'm a lifetime member & will help out anyone that asks. this 'has' to be gifted, so for me to do this i'd need funds via paypal personal reasons & your nra member # if upgrading or name, address to enroll anyone for annual membership
there are other organizations that also support our 2a rights, that could probably also use more funding

Looks good Nutty, if you're looking at getting a holster for concealment, Raven holsters are a good bet, when I get my CCW license this will be what I'm getting, and you can buy straps to convert it from OTW to ITW easily.
As for a laser, they're great to have but most people I know that have them rely on them too heavily. They're great training tools but to me I wouldn't want to have to rely on it if my life depended on it.
I suggest a good light, either a streamlight or surefire. And both of these companies offer a light/laser combo if you have the money to spend.
I have a TLR-1s which is just a light that you can strobe.
Or you can pick up the TLR-2 which has a light and a laser, but it'll run you around 200 bucks and is bigger.

what cha think.. still trying to find a good holster and maybe a laser .
Glock 19 FTW!!
Nice choice brotha that was my first love (first gun I tried and dominated with at the range) 2 months later ended up with a RTF2 17. Havnt looked back since.. Been together for about 3 years and 5k rounds and still newlyweds in my book
so serious question... will having a dui on my record effect my ability to buy a pistol?
My lawyer told me to think of it as a traffic violation and advised me not to tell employers but idk how it affects this... I know it was a misdemeanor offence and happened about 4 years ago, its not even on my insurance any more.... and is the only citation i have ever received.
