Just left the dealer. Put down my deposit to secure a 13 Repsol. Coming in end of february or beginning of march. Stoked. Surfing the net:spin: looking for things i want to buy for it. No better feeling.
Congrats OP! You are a brave soul. Doing what you are doing is like walking into a dealer bent over with your pants around your ankles. But hey, if you have the lube, I mean $, more power to you. Congrats again.
Thanx. We'll see what I end up paying. If its something I really want then I don't mind paying. I've been saving every penny I can for a long time now so I figure I've earned it.
^^^ I hear what you are saying. It's not the paying up front that bothers me in a case like this. I did the same thing when I special ordered my M3 to get exactly what I wanted, but I knew the OTD price when gave them the down payment. I just could never put a down payment on anything without knowing exactly what I will be paying. I'm curious, are you stuck with having to pay whatever the dealer demands? Or can you back out of it's over MSRP? How does it work?
I just put down the deposit to hold a repsol unit. I can back out. Only did it to ensure I'd get the chance at one. Idk where you are located but I've never seen dealers around here, @ least the ones I frequent, price a unit higher than MSRP no matter how rare the model. The 13 will be more than the 12 I don't even question that but I personally don't believe it's going to be crazy higher than the 12. IMHO
I see. So there's no risk with the deposit. But be prepare to pay whatever the dealer ask for since they know you want the bike. Anyways, congrats again. I'm sure it'll be a great bike.
I hear ya. I'm prepared to pay MSRP @ the absolute most but I'd only do that for the rep model. I'm pretty sure I'll get outta there for less than MSRP. I had a lot of requests so I will be posting the buying process along with some pix after it all goes down. Btw being one of the first in the country to get a rep isn't a bad thing in my book lol.
Holy buckets that's shweet. I'm salivating. That is one problem buying a very color specific bike like the rep. I have to get new gear to match. Jacket, that will zip to my pants, gloves & a helmet. Did I mention that that lid is shweet?!
Dude don't do it, save your self about $7000.00 and pick up a clean used one, basically same bike. Get a 07/08 they are the faster ones and lighter too. Can you imagine what you can do with 7 grand to that bike.
Thanx for the idea but I've owned a 96, 06, & an 07 cbr 600. Currently own an 08 1kr. Selling that to get my 13. I know how nice the 07/08 models are. My 07 was my favorite. I don't believe the 13 its basically the same bike personally but everyone has their opinions. Plenty of people went out & bought 12s which in my opinion is a very slightly revised versions of the 5 yr old 07. Not to mention I've been waiting for a Repsol 600 model since the 05 1kr rep model. If the 13 had come out & it was just like the 12 my plan was to find the most virgin, stock black & red 08. They are very hard to find as I've basically been looking since early 2010. I have no doubt what so ever that I will be most happy with the purchase.
You know what you like, so get what you want. Otherwise there will always be that little "what if I was to get that Repsol when I could" in the back of your head.
Not saying anything negative, and of course I feel everyone should get what they want. But for 13-14 grand out the door for the same bike as a older model is crazy. I mean you could buy that repsol body work for 2-3 grand install on older bike, and still have 4-5 grand left, plus whatever you sold the older bodywork for. Just trying to save him big $$$.
i tried going from a 1k back to a 6, it wasnt the same. lasted a few weeks then got a 1k(my rsv). good luck with the transistion back! im hoping the dealers start getting in the new stock up here soon so i can go see these bikes in person.
Rsv nice machine. I guess it all depends on how/where you ride. I like the 600 for the riding I do. Got the 1kr to see if I was missing anything. I personally feel that I'm not. Around New England I find more use for the 600. I've had a 96, 06, & 07 cbr 600. It's the format I'm more comfortable riding fast in the twisties.
You know the more I see this 13 600rr the more it looks better, however, I still say the 07/08 looks better but that repsol scheme is tits and the camero front is growing on me.
Tell us how it compares to your 07!! I like the wheels on the 13. Repsol has always been a favorite scheme of mine. It's cool Honda went back to it. I was afraid they weren't going to do the repsol paint for a while. Now all you need is a 46 and doctor sticker on the front. Throwback!!

Idk that I'll who're the sh*t out of it. Probably just some tasteful mods. Who knows sometimes you get that bug & it gets outta control. I'll def post pix when I get it & any mods after that.
Don't scratch that thing or knock it over,Honda makes us dealers verify that you are the owner of the bike to get you parts for it,I kinda feel bad asking a customer for a copy of their drivers license and registration.
It just sucks for him that he has to wait until March. I bought my 2013 Kawasaki ZX6R all most 2 months ago, that is 5 months before Honda can release their bike, that I bet they had sitting around since last year. If Honda can release their dirtbikes in November, they should also be able to release the street bikes. Just don't understand Honda anymore....
curious,, what would you be looking for $$ to sell that 1k when the 600 comes home..
just curious.. maybe instead of buying new **** for my 04600 i can just upgrade completely...
im in NY and dirve a pick up so this isnt far fetch.. if you build it they will come.. if the bikes worth it, so will I!
