FI Light coming on

My FI light has been coming on recently after I have been riding for 25-30 min. If I turn the bike off and restart it goes off - only to come on again the next ride.

It started after I had to take the front end apart to fix my gauge cluster which had come loose during a long ride. All I did was add piece of metal to the stay and bolt it to the gauges (bottom tab broke). Now the FI light crap. Any ideas?

put the kickstand down, and tell me how many times the FI light blinks before starting over, it will be a 1-2 second pause.

it might be a loose gauge cluster, or it could be something else and was just a coincidence.

put the kickstand down after turning it off while the FI light is on? In neutral?

put the kickstand down and turn the key on but dont hit the start button. the fi light should blink. the number of blinks is the trouble code.

Like stated above count the blinks long ones and short ones and post the
number back will let you know the code related to the # of blinks

For example these are the codes list for the 03 to 06 RR

If there's a code, the FI will flash your code(s). Count the flashes.

There's long blinks amd short blinks.

Long = 1.3 seconds

Short = .5 seconds

If you have a long blink, the 3 short ones.....that's 13.

A long blink = 10

A short blink = 1

9 short blinks = 9....and so on.

CODES:

0 - bank angle sensor, ECM, PGM-FI fuse
1 - MAP sensor
2 - MAP sensor vacuum hoses, or sensor itself
7 - ECT sensor poorly connected or open circuit
8 - TP sensor, TP senspr wiring
9 - IAT sensor connection, or open wire
10 - Baro sensor, or connection, or wiring
11 - Vehicle speed sensor, or connection or wiring
12 - #1 injector connection, or faulty injector
13 - #2 injectior connection or faulty injector
14 - #1 connection or open/shorted circuit
15 - #2 connection or open/shorted circuit
18 - Cam pulse sensor, connection or loose sensor
19 - Ignition pulse sensor, connection or loose sensor
20 - faulty E-PROM in ECM.

just came back from lunch and thought I had it down (In Neutral, put kickstand down, while bike is running) 7 flashes

3 slow flashes and 4 quick.

that should be a code 34 then
that is the exhaust servo.

do you still have yours installed.
you must either have the servo installed or one of the servo eliminator kits (i have a few to give away)

otherwise your bike will go into limp mode

okay... I have one of those eliminator "kits" on it. I think I am going to take it apart and soldier the wires. It has given me problems before. Thanks everyone.

You do realise that he hasn't been on here since may 2009 right?
You also realise that this thread is from 2008 right?
