Cheap Adjustable DIY FE

Been wanting to get something more finished to mount my plate under my tail. I had been rocking the 1 screw into the battery tray. Got the job done but very ghetto. Went to the hardware store (ACE Hardware) and picked up some exhaust/pipe hanger for 3 bucks.

parts list:

exhaust/pipe hanger
3 bolts/nuts
steel cutters
screw driver(s)
a good eye

cut the exhaust hanger into two L pieces, where the legs of the L meet in the middle of the plate.

Wrap the exhaust hanger around the midpipe of your exhaust, right where the pipe meets the muffler, cut leaving ~1 inch for tails so you can slip a bolt through them to tighten and to attach the license plate.

Put it all together.

I will eventually spray paint the hangers black. Want to ride around with it as it is for a little bit. Looks great!

Nice job. Might need to throw a light on there to avoid beef from the fuzz.

yup, looking to put some leds in my rear hugger. just have to find a route for the wire up to the stock wiring for the old license plate light.

looks good but doesnt seem like it would be stable since its not really attached to anything and doesnt look tight around the mid pipe.

Massachusetts State troopers gave each of my friends a $250 ticket last year for having their plates in the same position. I had mine in the same spot the guy who inspects my bike just tells me not to rat him out for giving me a sticker and that I changed it after inspection. Anyways its not worth a $250 ticket so I moved mine out, just incase you want to move it just buy an adjustable clamp from Home depot its like $1.85 if you have some heat shrink tubing put that around the clamp so it doesn't scratch your exhaust can. You can buy the LED plate light for $20 bucks or just get the LED screws for $15 from tripage.

The troopers are pretty bad, been pulled over before for something dumb then let go for the same reason.

I hear you man they give us a hard time in Lowell we usually hang out at Dunkin Donuts almost everynight in the summer. We just sit on the benches in the parking lot and line the bikes up and the troopers always have to stop by and ask us if anything is going on tonight. Don't get me wrong some troopers are nice but some can be dicks and wait for one of us to get on our bikes to leave so he can write us up for something. Eventually they get tired of waiting and just leave lolz.
