Well... if your going to lower it, just chop it and reweld the bottom plate back on the bottom. Seems thats what most fellows do anyways.

Just be sure you do reweld the bottom piece back on, I remember looking at a guys (crashed) F4i that just had this gnarly point, kept thinking I would lose a toe.

i recommend cutting and welding, and if you must, pick up a spare stocker. i hear the adjustable stands are much weaker and have heard cases where they bend/break :(

A cheap kickstand is like cheap tires, weak. Buy a kickstand on ebay for $25-35 and cut it down to size or cut yours and save the ebay one. Don't hold up your nice bike though with some cheap crap aftermarket kickstand, that makes no sense.

this "cheap shortcut" i think would be much stronger than any of the adjustable kickstands out there. what do you think the OEM kickstand is? solid metal stick w/ a foot welded to the bottom. strong like bull.

OP, burkhartcycle.com sells adjustable kickstands for a 600rr but I don't know how good they are. Anyone here have any reviews on them?
