Wheelie Teach Device

I came across this on the 1000rr forum.Apparently its a device that helps novices learn to wheelie safely.

Check out the videos. The dude in the videos not even at BP. The least they could do was to get a proper stunter to do the final wheelie video

Actually its a great device. Why do I say that? Cuz I have tried it myself, as well as I do the demos at XDL for Wheelie Teach. Before I agreed to do anything with Wheelie Teach I tested the product out for myself. As well as had 2 different people who could not wheelie at all try it out as one, one male and one female. After my instructions and teaching them, both were getting the bike off the ground and doing baby wheelies. Pretty damn good for 2 people who've never wheelied before. The device gave both of them a huge boost of confidence as well. There are 3 stages to the Wheelie Teach and YES the 3rd stage does bring you right to the beginning stage of balance point. It keeps you from flipping but you can still crash with it on the bike.

The Wheelie Teach is designed for someone who just simply wants to learn to wheelie. It isn't going to make them a pro rider or anything. But its a much safer way to learn and gives you confidence.

And fun fact. Guys like E-dub and Nick Apex from Death Squad, and Sick Rick have said they would love to use one to try to learn switchback wheelies. Bill D told me it would work for learning switchback wheelies. So if they're saying they would trust it to learn to do a switchback wheelie, obviously it would work to do a regular wheelie.

wow, thats news.
all i have heard or read about is that its a piece of crap, but if what you say is true, maybe it might help out some folks get over their fear of wheeling. But i would still be vary of wobbles and tankslappers though..

I think it is a good idea for people that are scared but still once you get comfy with the highest setting your still not close to balance point. what happened to just working your way up dumping it a little harder each time. have you tried dumping the clutch real hard, how does it react if it slams the wheelie bar? and also i have heard that it will dent the swing arm is this true?

As I said earlier, the highest setting takes you to the beginning of balance point.

I have not experienced any dents in my swing arm. The wheelie teach acts as a rear brake meaning if you hit it hard, it'll push you back down.

And lastly, if you're clutching the bike up so hard that if dents your swing arm, then you clutching it WAY TOO HARD. Without the wheelie teach you would probably be flipping over. So you should be happy you have the wheelie teach on there.

How long have you used it for and how does it hold up? Any damages or weak spots that you noticed?

Another quick question, whats your stance during sit down wheelies? I try to hold myself on with with my knees and try to keep my arms loose..

I know someone who ordered one for a Suzuki. i'll check it out when he gets it let you guys know.

I'm finding myself improving with wheelies. Although still not finding bp. Honestly when I clutch it in such a way that I could attain bp, I get p***y in me and chop the throttle back off by the time it gets to where the windshield is just passing eye level. I will just keep practicing until I get over my fears. I remember when coming up a foot off of the ground was scary.

This device may work, but 'for me' the thought of using it takes away from the conquering of my inner demons of fear and mastering the machine. Just me though. When I get this s*** down I don't want to give credit to this device I want to sleep at night knowing I overcame and mastered this s***..

Again just me though.

I've got about 5 hours of use on the one I got. No damage to Wheelie Teach or my bike.

You can either do sit downs that way or scoot your butt all the way back so its up against the passenger seat.
