Tyres

It's fairly disgraceful that one would even consider riding on tyres in that condition.

I don't think it was his tires. I believe the Mohawk was distributing to much wind over his back, causing an air pocket and when he started to break the sound barrier he wasn't ready and lost control. Or it was the tires.

I heard if you wear your tires down they turn into slicks and the grip goes up by 1000%

To his credit, he had some gear on and seemed to come out of it ok from what's visible. Might've been a better idea to spend the money on the helmet spikes on tires first, though. Hope the rider's alright.

I thought he touched the front brake, but a closer inspection reveals no.

Not sure how he did that. Maybe pulled on the left handlebar instead of counter-steering.

He's probably thinking the side patch on the tires are still good.

Cause the guy would probably sue DotNet.

All the guys on that hill go mad if anyone uses their footage or name with out putting some their way. I've seen their comments and posts and they get serious real quick.

Its even worse when you consider he is riding it for joy with those tyres, rather than out of necessity (ie to commute)

Everyone keeps talking about the tires alone, sure they're pretty awful and so was his nonexistent body position.
