Hey guys I was now how long is the lifespan expectancy or an 07-08 bike. I know they havnt been around long enough to start dieing on people, but hoe many miles should I expect out of one of these machines?
I figure with such a high revving engine it can't last as long as a car, like 100,000.
Jw cause Im buying a used bike and dont want to buy something that will on last another 10,000 miles.

Yea i hear that these bikes last a long time... I think there was a thread on here that someones had like over 100,000 miles on it. If u do the proper maintenance to the bike at the required mileage u should have no problem with the bike dying on u... It should outlast the period of u owning it... i bought my 07 with 1900 miles on it, it now has about 11,000 and runs the same as the day i bought it...

Sorry to change the subject but @biglen I see you have a Toce exhaust on your 07. Do you like it? I'm trying to decide whether to get one of them or a Two Brothers.
Ya well I'd hope 11,000 would be just like new. Do u think 30,40,50 is when they will start reaching there limit?
i got my 08 used with 12k miles. there is nothing wrong with it mechanically, save for some missing bolts and rusted bolts. But like everyone said, and the same way you would maintain any other machine, the more you take care of it with regular interval maintenance, the longer it will last. there is no reason why it shouldnt. keep it well lubed and clean, and you will be good.

The engine will outlast the bike. If somehow you do manage to actually put on enough miles that the engine does give out, it's easy to track down a fairly fresh engine for 1k or so.
I sold my 07 with 34K miles and over 40 track days on it. I also ran it hard on the street, daily excursions to the redline and minutes at a time over 13K rpm. It ran like brand-new. It's a Honda. You can't kill it.

My contribution/question is does the OP mean how long will the motor last without a rebuild or how long will it LAST?
Like others have said MAINTENANCE is the life of any engine.
Run it low on coolant and oil a few times and the future of the motor will surely be questionable
The only thing with buying a high mileage or aged machine always falls back to, was is taken care of?
Good luck with your decision but Honda knows what they're doing, look at all the Accords from the 80s still rolling around. Most don't smoke and are reliable = Good Engineering, Research, Experience, and Quality of Construction

these bikes can last for many many street miles as my buddy jared has 237k on his cbrf4i and its still go the original clutch so I would not worry about that. Before I sold my sv it was compression and leak down tested and both cylinders were under 5% at 24k miles so unless you racing every weekend I would not worry about needing an engine rebuild

i am also a owner of a toce exhaust i say go toce i think it sounds so much better then the two brother exhaust but thats my opinion i love it lol
Why would you expect to see power loss by riding mostly on the street?
I said mix of track and street. We all know track riding is harder on the engine and the rate of engine wear would likely increase. Performance loss would probably be something marginal though, and maybe not even something one would be able to feel.

i have also heard of R1's with 150,000-200,000 miles on them, it is all about the service work, my two old bmws have 283,XXX and 290,XXX+ on them both and it is all about how you take care of the motor, quality oil chances every interval or sooner IMO sooner, good filter, allowing it to warm up when cold before railing on it, all goo things to remember when owning a vehicle for a extended period of time or trying to get the most miles out of one.
As mentioned, the engines aren't really the weak point of these bikes. The issue is that most of them are crashed before they can get to see those kind of miles...
