New MembersNew members MUST post in this section to introduce themselves to the RR family of ours. Failure to do so will prohibit posting in other forums.
As the vets of dot net may know there are some questions that get asked a little too frequent. We understand that this is a forum and that without questions and discussion then there is no reason for a forum.
The point of this guide is too help answer some of those super simple questions that don’t need to be asked over and over again and to give links to point you in a direction if searching isn’t working.
First and foremost:Read the rules
Nothing is going to make people on your case more then not following the rules.
Second thing: Explore. Look around the site and see what sections are there what kind of things are posted in each section and so forth.
Next thing would be to introduce yourself: As you probably noticed, to activate your account and start posting on the site you need to post an intro thread. Intro threads should contain a little something like this: name/ where you are from, what bike you have, how long you've been riding, PICS and other info you would like to share...
Personal Opinion
I cannot stress this point enough, everyone has their own opinion and you will recognize that if you ask a question. Exhaust: Almost all exhausts are liked by different people for different reasons….. It all depends on what you think sounds the best, looks the best, and fits your price range. Akrapovic is popular exhaust but not everyone wants to dish out the money for it, Leo Vince seems to be next popular but maybe you want something cheaper, some people love their 2Bros. All depends on what your preference is. Oil: When asking about oil each person has their oil brand they stick to. Some swear by expensive oil some swear by cheap oil. Take the advice and recommendations with a grain of salt, no sense arguing about it.
Last, some fun facts that you may want to know when starting out on dot net. To advertise on this site for a company or to sell products you need a vendor license. here . If you would like to sell some of your personal parts in the classified section you must have 100 posts and 60 days as a member. Why? Well this helps prevent from people joining and spamming the forum with for sale ads along with making you be a contributing member of the site to attain the benefit of the free classifieds.
In closing: Do some searching before starting a thread. Not only on dot net, but on google. Many google searches will return you right back to this site with the link and may actually work a little better then the search bar on dot net. If a questions seems very simple it has already been answered numerous times.
When you do finally ask a question come in with a hard shell, this is the internet, we try to keep things friendly on here but not everyone is in the greatest mood and they may flame you.
i put 2 links about why gear is important what did you have in mind?
links dont work for me.... ohh and how about Twist of the Wrist II? Always a great watch for beginners who know nothing about street riding, i know it helped me. also why track riding will help with confidence, learning, and correct technique.
