i could not find another post sorry if its a re-thread. I was in first gear took it took 12k and then i think i released the throttle too quickly, dont remember touching the break, maybe the front and my back tire hopped or bounced and i had to pull the clutch in to let the tire catch up to the bike as it was all over the place. almost felt like a flat tire when i pulled the clutch in, weird feeling. Got the bike to a stop and nothing happened. Did i untwist the throttle to quickly? Any thoughts on what im doing wrong, this is the second time i have had it happen. Thanks.
Wobble? lol. Sounds like the rear tire was skipping. A slipper clutch would resolve it, but blipping the throttle is the proper fix on the stock clutch.

Just curious, what would a slipper clutch do here? It doesn't sound like he downshifted or anything.

You don't need to downshift to have engine braking. You could do what the OP did and accelerate hard and release the throttle suddenly and have an engine braking effect.

In normal clutches, the engine braking force is transmitted to rear wheel via chain drive or shaft drive which causes rear wheel to shake, jump or lose traction. This is the main concept behind slipper clutch to control rear wheel under hard braking and downshifting that causes the rear wheel to shake or lose traction. Especially in higher displacement bike where the engine braking force is massive and cause vital injury to rider if not controlled.
Sounds like a deceleration wobble. That is normal. This happens when you are basically engine braking from a high rpm.
Ya thats sound like it to me. what would be the right thing to do in the situation to coming to a grinding hault? Pull that clutch right in to get it out of gear and let it out once the RPM's have dropped?
Same thing happened to me today on my 11 cbr600. I was in first gear taking off and had speed around 60mph high rpm, then I let off the throttle completely and it seemed like the front tire was loose or flat. THe bike was shaking like crazy, as if i were riding on huge size gravel. I didnt pull in the clutch, I just let it slow down. I thought for sure that the bike was going to slid or fall down. So it is normal normal right???
You guys do know that there are gears other than first right. Just saying. I hardly engine brake at high RPM on first because of this. Clutch in and brake.

No, it's not normal. It comes from really, really bad riding technique. Now that you're done it, you know it doesn't feel right. Don't do it any more.

When doing strong down shitftings it's better to give a little rev to the engine to avoid the rear tire from blocking/woobling...
It's easier to install a slipper clutch... but is cheaper to just learn how to do this things with what you've got in your hands...
It is not an easy thing to do, it requires much practice... but in the end you find yourselves much more experienced (and your wallet will appreciate it!)
The secret is to learn how to throtle (due to the down shifting) while hitting the front brake... not an easy job!
