I have always thought it boiled down to which OS you prefer. Got a chance to use the GS3 earlier and the phone is very well made and very fast. I have to say though if you want your OS to just work without many hiccups or weird issues, iOS is the way to go IMO. I love android for the rooting and customization of everything but currently flirting with the idea of switching just because it would be nice to have a phone that was designed by the people who made the OS and regularly put out updates to fix things where as Samsung will most likely drop to sub-par coverage of the GS3 as soon as the Galaxy S IV or w/e comes next comes out.

Just my $.02

That's not the phones, it's the OS. I'm sure they will fix it soon. That is just a software glitch that Apple should have looked at but then again they have more important things to do than look over every square mile of the world in their maps to check for inconsistencies.

I think the "iPhone 5" chart is hilarious because it actually makes me want the GS3 even more than the iPhone because there is not a single negative thing on the GS3 side.

Sure marketing as always plays a part, but the facts (specs) don't lie. And I don't like Apple's complacency with how they are taking very small steps in improving their offering just because regardless of the competition, they know that it will sell big.......and it did. From the economic point of view, it makes sense but sometimes it pays in the long run to show your customers some appreciation and loyalty. To top it off, the new outlet is one of the douchiest things I see a company do.

I agree with you, Apple's small steps are frustrating because the average person could not tell the difference between the 4S and 5 performance and feature wise. I do like that about android phones trying to come out with helpful features. My main point is that apple phones (for the most part) just work because they have a select few sets of hardware for an OS that they can cater to the hardware to make it feel seamless. The other thing I've come to not like so much about Android phones is that your phone is outdated every couple of weeks (although this has slowed down).

I love Android but Samsung sucks IMO. Own one of their phones for long and see where quality comes into play. Much rather have an HTC or Motorola Droid over a Samsung. A lot of what they're pushing in their commercials works only with Samsung as well. Like the NFC. Share files, but only with other Galaxy 3 owners. Siri is a joke but S voice is an even bigger joke. Both phones hype their stand by time but notice how neither markets their 4g use time. You'd be lucky to get by a day without a charge. Camera is better on the iPhone as well.

I say get what works for you.
OP had an iPhone before, go try Android and see if that's the OS for you.
I tried a GS3 and didn't like the OS.
Great phone but just to Bulky for me and didn't feel the OS cause I'm so use to IOS Especially a Jailbroken iPhone.

I'm doing pretty well with this non Jailbroken iP5. I do miss a few things from Cydia but its not as bad as I thought it was gonna be.

I would try looking at all the different phones. Since Samsung, HTC, and Motorola all come with different skinned UI's it can make the experience much different. I personally prefer the stock android feel that you can get from a nexus device. There will be some new phones coming out soon which might be worth waiting and looking into. That's what I feel is another pro for android is that you get a choice in what you want and not just one option with apple. But I would definitely try out the different brands to see what you prefer the most.

You could also try checking out the new windows phone Nokia Lumia 920. This to me looks like a very good phone about to come out.

To me the iphone is just boring. I got use to all the customization I could do on my android and make it work the way I want it to. Trying to use an iphone now for me is actually very difficult. Apple has already admitted that they made a mistake with releasing their maps app and have suggested alternatives till they can get it fixed.

I have had iPhone's since they were first released. Mostly due to having to support network services that they leverage. That said, it's always a step behind other services. This is my last iPhone, I won't have a 5.

The fanboys will always use them no matter what, but those of us that are phone agnostic will actually research our choices and make the proper choice for us. There is no best choice for everyone, just the best for you...and only you can determine that.

I personally drank the Apple Kool Aid back in the iPhone 3 days and have owned the 3, 4, and now the 5. Never had any of the "S" series. I have to say I really like the iPhone because it functions for me. I use it for email (both work and personal), texting, voice, music, and web surfing. I put on apps that I like and feel like I need. The camera is really nice in my opinion but I'm not expecting to take professional pics using it. As long as it's easy access to take a quick pic of my kids or something post worthy I'm happy. With that said, I don't consider myself a power user of phones but it's not a brick in my pocket as well. I just feel most of us don't even utilize any phone's full capabilities. Customization is great but next thing you know there's a new something that comes out where you have to do it all over again. Get what works for you and what you feel is a decent price. I will say this about Apple products though. The restriction it puts on stuff like having to plug into iTunes and set storage space is a bit annoying.

One last comment- Apple changing the docking port is long overdue. I see it as they've been doing us a favor for the last few years by keeping it the same. How many phones or gadgets did have you bought where you can't use your old charger? With most of Apple's stuff you can use the same charger for everything. The change was due to a design change to allow more features to their products from what I've read. Did making money have anything to do with it by needing adapters and such? Of course it did!! Wouldn't you?

The iPhone is the Honda of phones. It just plain works. Sure there are better specs out there for 600cc bikes and for phones, but for the normal user you can't go wrong with the iPhone. Honda also doesn't update their machines constantly, or follow what everyone else does either. Neither the phone or the bike is what everyone wants, but I love both for what I do with them. I'll never own another android unless apple really departs from their current product types
