Congratulations. I love the look of the newer gen R1's. That black and grey combo looks great.

haha I doubt that. will you be getting out this year? you'll need a good dry day to get used to that thing, I know I wouldn't want to jump on an R1 in the rain lol. cracking bike though, I've always liked them

This is the problem, the fvcking weather....

The chances are its going to be put to bed now for the winter, i went over the snake pass again over the weekend and put loads of warm clothes under my leathers and still half froze to death... Its not going to get any warmer but at least i can spend many happy hours cleaning it, even though its brand new and spotless......

Im not going to be able to sleep till the summer gets here again, lets move to the US, at least they get great weather......

I nearly always wear a hoody over my leathers at this time of year to break up the wind chill a bit, works for me. be careful on snake pass with the high winds, it won't be long til they are closing the road completely.

I don't know if I could handle a brand new shiney bike sitting in the garage all winter, I'd put money on you just sitting on it & pretending you're riding it lol (I would!)

Are R1's still as twitchy on the power as people used to say though? I find the R1 looks alot bulkier than the R6(which I find somewhat ok to look at)

Have to say though, good time for deals this end of the year, wish i had cash to buy at this end 2012 fireblades are already grands cheaper than showroom with like 100miles on them dunno who buys a bike new to put 100miles on it and get rid, but I gotta sell to buy, which means i'd have to sell at the bad end....oh and then there's insurance haha...

2011 CBR1000RR same colors like the one below - 7000, only 1.5k miles on it...(cheapest 2012 with same level of miles on it as 9k that i could find)

I would definitely agree that the Blade is a better bike to ride, faster and easier however if the pipes aren't under the rear seat im not interested. For me the R1 looks better, its an individual thing.......

This bike brand new with no miles on the clock was up for 11,999 it was reduced to 10,999 and i got them down to 10,000 getting 6,000 for mine which was a little disappointing but the deed is done...

so essentially you're getting a BRAND NEW R1 FOR 4k, you've done a cracking deal there mate.

I clocked the 1st mile on my cbr, was really weird to look down & just see 1 on the odometer

mine showed 0.2 miles on the trip but no complete miles & I got mine from Padgetts Honda, I think they know what they are doing when checking a bike

26k miles & the bike hasn't missed a beat, I think I'm safe

if honda themselves do more than 0.2 miles of checks at the factory then where did my bike come from?

I bought mine from a Honda dealership in Ruislip and mine seems perfect so far. I personally wouldn't want to purchase a new bike only for it to come to me with 5miles on it lol.

Something fulfilling about knowing you put the 1st mile on the odometer.

The fact that it is new is the most important thing for me, knowing that im the only one that has rode it, cleaned it and serviced it where possible... The thought that someone else may have been thrashing around on it pisses me off thats why i was never really happy with my 600rr... Great bike, fast had the looks but it just felt to second hand like it wasn't really mine....

When i do have the money i will probably get another for track days....

I bet this is what your bike said when you first picked it up: "Please get this exhaust for me, please ohh please ohh please :D"
