"" gopro hero 3 feedback needed "*

.

Ok, so as most of you probably already know, there is a ALL NEW GoPro HERO 3 coming out soon.
Faster, Smaller, Lighter, Better Quality, Built In Wi-Fi..etc..etc.

This Post is a General Discussion on what your opinion on the Two Models coming out of HERO 3.

They have the SILVER SERIES, which is is basically an updated HD Hero 2 camera with WiFi built in, the thinner size and and improved housing.
1080p/30fps, 960p/48fps, 720p/60fps
11MP photos
Up to 10 shots per second in photo burst mode

And then for $100 MORE.. They have a BLACK SERIES, Which includes the WiFi Remote ($80 value) and a better Camera
4K/15, 2.7K/30, 1440p/48fps, 1080p/60fps, 960p/100fps, 720p/120fps
12MP photos
New photo burst modes with up to 30 shots per second

There are hundreds of way to use and mount a GoPro. But, the most common, is Mount on your Bike, or Mount on your Helmet.

In these situations, it's a TOTAL PITA to have to (POWER ON, Make sure it's on, START. Recording, STOP Recording, POWER OFF, Switch to Camera Mode, Take some Rapid Shots, Switch Back to Video, Change Video Settings...etc..etc..)

That's where the WiFi Remote comes in. You strap it to your wrist like a Watch, and it has a MATCHING LDD Screen to exactly what your Camera is doing. Plus, a Big ON / OFF and Record Button.

So what's your opinion on what GoPro is doing.

Is it worth spending $100 MORE for the Better Camera and the WiFi Remote ?

or would you just using your iPhone, or Droid device as a remote instead . and save the $100.?

Once again, just a General Discussion on these models. This isn't to debate GoPro vs. something else, or what they sell for.... etc. JUST Discussion on GoPro's Decision to have these two models.

i'll probably splurge and get the black edition. With all the extra stuff you get and better video/picture quality and settings its worth the extra $100.

Actually the Camera's are the Exact SAME.

ONLY difference between SILVER and BLACK Edition is the Extra Mounts, and the WiFi Remote.

Yea, but that's a complete base model , and the Tech specs are on Par with a Base Hero 2 as far as image quality, and rapid fire..not much of a Mount kit either. NO Suction cup, or Kit... .etc..

So we are figuring there won't be much demand for those.

FINALLY they get with the program and offer a wifi remote!

This is why I favored Drift Innovations Drift HD line more than GoPro. The GoPro is still large and feels like you have a sail on your helmet, though it's a compromise between image quality vs usability.

I would probably get the silver version. No real reason to need the black version unless you need super super slow motion which you don't for motorcycling. And plus, if I'm going to need that high quality then might as well get a Canon 5d or 7d.

Crashing with a GoPro vs Canon 5d/7d..?

I will take the GoPro everytime..lol Besides, it may just need a new case vs replacement.

This the black edition has a lot better specs. The silver is just a hero2 with wifi built in and a different frame.

every thing looks cooler in slow motion though!

I just got the hero 2 in july so it will be a while before I get a upgrade... however im going to do with the black. I do a lot of mountain biking and drift triking so the remote and slow motion are huge pluses for me

that is cool, but if you look close you can see the program blurring the image to try and make it smooth. you can really see it at 1:38 his back leg is very burly...

still not the same as actually recording at 120fps

I think GoPro is definitely improving, smaller, lighter, better quality camera with the new Black Series. Adding the wifi built in with the remote is brilliant! Only thing is that the battery is new, so the older versions won't fit.

What needs to happen is a group buy where the price is less than $399!

Oh, I agree completely. The blurring could be contributed to many factors though. Still, 1080p @ 60fps/720p @ 120fps = AWESOME! I would do that over software effects every time.

LOL.. Yea, the competition is getting stronger, and Forcing GoPro to step it up. Having better video and pictures and built in Wi-Fi is a good step in the right direction.

Black edition 100% If you factor the cost of the remote its only $20 more than the silver edition.

Silver edition = slimmer wifi hero2
white edition = slimmer wifi hero1

the silver edition is like a hero 2 but with wi-fi built in so you can use the GoPro app and what not. but if you dont use the app i would just go for the hero 2 which is only $199 at a lot of places now.

That seems to be the popular option.

I just got my hero2 last week so i'm pissed but i'll still get the black come tax time. i think it would be worth the extra 100 for the quality and the wifi. seeing as how most are coming with wifi built in its about time that gopro got with it. I'm anxious to see videos with the new hero3 when ppl get there hands on it.
