With the events in Sepang, showing us that anything can happen, and weather forecast looking bleak, the penultimate round could reveal the new world champion. Who could it be?
Well unless Lorenzo crashes unfortunetly it's not lookn' good for Pedrosa. I still dont know how he kept his bike up in Sepang?? crazy! IF Pedrosa didnt crash out in RSM it would be a 2 point lead now!! Stoner's home track im sure he will do what he does best there - WIN
If Lorenzo has some sort of problem that relegates him to say 5th and Pedrosa wins, at PI, then its up for grabs. Looking at WSBK this season, really anything can happen. Pedrosa once crashed at the very first corner at PI in 2008, it was so unexpected. Round 17 should be exciting, it is one hell of a track.

wouldnt discount one the Tech3 yamahas taking a podium at the Island.
I would say it's definitely Dovi, he is real good there. I will never forget when he overtook two bikes at turn 1, in his rookie season. I am mesmerized every time I watch it.

Stoner at P.I. is just about as much of a lock to win as you can get in GP. Dani and Jorge haven't had any consistent finishes at P.i. in the GP class, both recording podiums and accidents. This will be the third race on Jorge's last motor so that will start coming into play as well. I wouldn't rule out Bautista either. He's been showing some of his talent lately and had a podium there in his 250 days. If he can keep a 3rd spot pace things may get interesting.
Stoner will definitely want to put on a good show for his fans but hes still not 100% and JL and DP are on top of their game. I'm going with JL on this one, and world champion!
I think this is as close as Dani will ever get to winning it.
For some reason a part of me wants to say that even an injured Stoner can still out pace a healthy JL. He's won that race before at 8+ seconds ahead of second place. If he can muster anything close to that I think he'll secure the 1st spot.
"The naming announced today by Andrew Fox of circuit owners, the Linfox Property Group, is in recognition of Stoner’s sensational road racing career and total dominance of Phillip Island from 2007 where he has claimed five consecutive MotoGP victories."
“Turn three is probably my favourite one in the world. I am almost flat out in fifth gear through there and that is pretty damn fast and it really gets your blood flowing that’s for sure. It always gives me a great rush going through there so to have a corner named after me at Phillip Island is something quite special. It is a great privilege”.
Never really liked Casey, but he is an amazing rider. He will be missed and hopefully he gets the bug to race motorcycles with a year off. I hope he wins this race or at least one more time before he hangs it up.

rumours are hes virtually locked in to drive v8 supercars in the near future.
those offers, combined with his love of fishing and the quiet life....doubt he'd ever want go back to the international circus.
Casey in a V8 supercar just seems so odd to me. Wish him the best in whatever he does but racing a car just doesn't seem right for him. I wonder if we'll see pics of the stars of GP fishing again like we did last year? Him and Colin seemed to got a kick out of it. Ben looked like a fish out of water. No pun intended.
