I came across the following statement on another forum, and would appreciate the feedback on its accuracy.
"I run the
Sato Racing ones. Cheap insurance against a mangled fork bottom and if you put them on right, you dont need tools to remove them, even for tire changes."
I am contemplating front axle sliders but have heard of the following things:
- Obviously the statement at the top (If it could save the forks the event of a crash, then its worth the money)
- It's a hassle with tyre changes.
- Frame sliders+bar ends are all you need for the front of the bike (I dont understand how the bar ends play a role in keeping the front axle safe.
I did have a lowside that runied my front rim (hit the curb) but nothing happened to the axles.
I'm getting rear axle slider spools anyways and need some info to decide on either getting front axle sliders or getting bar ends with the current frame sliders I have if there is a modecum of accuracy to that theory.
