how do i take this out (pics inside)

hello world,

hello so i bought the woodcraft right engine frame slider.

As i was tightening the bolt i broke the drill bit or what ever its called.

please help i want to take it out because i wanna replace the skid cover.


any input is appreciated as im stuck have no idea what to do

go buy an EZ out and use that, they look like a phillips bit and you just slowly unscrew the bolt with them.

or find a non-metric sized wrench that is slightly bigger than the metric size to force in there and take it out.

is there loc-tite on it? i'm confused, you said you bought a woodcraft cover but then you said you want to replace it. did you just buy it? i guess it's not the point.

did you actually break the allen wrench or did you just strip the bolt? FYI torque is only 7 ft. lbs on those

you can call woodcraft and get another bolt for that at 978-297-2977 or just get one from a hardware store (i'd get an original one from WC). they're only 25 cents.

Get the right torx wrench so it doesn't strip. The bid you used is probably standard and not metric. If all else failed, use the vice grip pliers and unscrew the bolt.

that should have been allen, not torx. it's countersunk so vice grips will be a no go.

Gonna need a drill before the ez-out.

Word, unless you get one just the right size and it grabs the sides before bottoming out.

I'm talking ez-outs like the one in the link, not like a tapered extractor.

I like these for quick easy stuff like this.
