Hey guys, as most of you know i'm looking for a nice sport bike for the spring. Today I cam upon a 2011 yamaha r6 with under 300 miles. I went to the guys house and this thing is mint!! not a single scratch. Anyway I just need help evaluating the price. He still has the receit from the dealer for over 12K and he is asking 6.5K now. I looked on kbb and other sites but im looking for real numbers on what it may be worth. Please don't flame for buying a yahama lol I would post this on a r6 forum but i didnt want to sign up for another forum. also does anyone know of any certain problems with the 2011 to look out for? Oh and he also has the extended 5 year warranty. thanks!!!!

A friend of mine has a R6 10' model and its sick!! I was originally going to buy an R6 but got a super good deal on my 600
Did you take it for a spin and run through all the gears? I would never buy a used bike without taking it for a spin, you just never know, buddy could of fucked up a gear or two. Some people just don't know how to ride ya know LOL!
But yet again, there isn't that much miles on it either ... get the V# on the bike and see if its stolen. If he has a problem with you knowing the #, walk away.
Haha yea if you fk up a bike with less than 300 miles you need to sell it. He is having a child and riding season is over so i think that is why he is selling. I went on alot of value websites and I can't find ir being worth less than 8k? I think I could get it for 6K. is that a pretty good deal? I just hate to have it sit in the garage till spring
I took it for a spin roughly an hour ago,runs/ shifts perfect. like I said this thing is MINT. I may offer him 6 and see where it goes. He's also throwing in a jacket (luckily my size) and two like new helmets.

Agreed. I would also say forget the free helmets. Take them and give them to a passenger if you MUST, but it is super important that you get a helmet that fits YOUR head right, not to mention you don't know the history of those helmets.

Thanks for the help guys. I already have too many helmets so i'll end up selling them. The good news is that i'm pretty sure it'll be mine. He is very very firm at 6,500 but I understand his point. I'll post up picks soon. It just stucks that I have to sit on it all winter long!!
He ended up selling it to me for $6,300 so i'm pretty happy. Here she is! obviouslt not mine but it is the same exact thing, all stock in brand new condition, heck it even still has the new motorcycle smeell!!

My first mods to come will be..
-sequential tail light with fender eliminator
-tank grips are a must for me to protect the tank and grip. What are a few good ones??
-get rid of the stock silver exhaust that stands out like a sore thumb! I really like the under tail on the rr but I 'll live with it
-and then just the usual odds and ends, like stands, frame sliders ext..
