09 Spare motor. No use for it. Sell it? if so how much? I really just want it gone
mileage is right around 1800 miles. Theft recovery and it is useless to me because I dont have time to fix it with new fairings and such. Its just the major part of bike that I have left since I have sold almost everything else. Picture a frame, motor, swing arm, tire/rim and shock. Insurance paid it off and I bought it back.
no seriously go to the local honda or other motorcycle service shops and tell them you have a motor for sale if they are interested, but im also sure you will get a lot o finterest from this site
Have it blueprinted, then it will sell for some dolla yo $$$
(No really, I'm serious, sell it to an 09 owner with blueprint evidence, a blueprinted engine will last even longer than Honda's normal reliability as blueprinting puts the engine into exact tolerances rather than allowances that the factory would have said parts are ok to go out, if i had spare money to burn i'd get blueprinting done on my engine)
Does it run? What's the condition of it? You have a much desired motor and you can sell that sucker for more than $500, more like $700 for just the motor on ebay. I wish I could take it off your hands for a project or something....

Put that $hit in a go-kart! Or just put it on e-bay/craigslist. When my F4i was stolen several years ago the police found the frame and motor. I'm pretty sure I got $600-$700 for the motor so I think 03cbr-rider is right on the money. Sold the frame for about $1,000.
The guy that bought my motor was putting it into a go-kart. it must be a blast to ride a go-kart with 100hp!

"If you really want the best from your engine, either maximising for the street or working to the book limits for race, we can offer a full blueprinting service for your engine.
Head porting to required Stage
Camshafts to match application, ‘mild to wild’
Chambers cc’d to matched volume
Full balancing; crank, pistons and rods (balanced individually and end to end)
Port matching
Stroke, rod and piston lengths optimised to give even squish and compression
Heads skimmed/decks levelled as required
Crankshafts ground for optimum bearing clearance
All set up on the rolling road"
Think it can cost like £1000 or something silly though for the full works haha
I'm planning a supersport rebulid when I have the cash
Just got a quote back for a 2008 600rr, he gave me a VERY quick reply i only just sent them a message and its very detailed, but yea....£800(loose engine)
(oh and thats in sheffield swan, so nearer to you)
Anyway, here's what he said:
"First, assuming the bike hasn’t done huge miles I’d suggest leaving the crank alone – the cranks were balanced pretty well as standard and leaving it ‘bedded in’ with original factory shells is the best way ahead for a road bike.
We’d look to run a mild head port to remove casting imperfections, de-step under the valve seats and make sure the ports match to inlet stubs and exhaust, and balance chamber volumes. Reciprocating gear (pistons and rods) would be weight balanced end-to end, and piston/conrods heights checked to give best match of deck height in each cylinder, though if they are close and the bores look good, it can be worth retaining the original rings as replacing them can be unnecessary.
Over all, to a loose engine, we’d be looking in the region of £800 including gaskets. If rings/shells etc are needed, they might be extra."
I've seen 6RR's kicking out 130bhp with a supersport build so good power gains, but its the refreshed engine I'd like most, mine has had some abuse over the years, so a refresh before tracking it would be nice. plus like you said everything would be spot on in there

thats what attracts me to blueprinting, it eliminates 'allowances' out of the factory, so the engine will be how it was meant on the drawings and science and facts, only problem is money for me, there's never enough!!
I need front flushmounts, tail tidy, arata slipon, asv brake lever only got the clutch one so far...so much still to do!
and then it'll get flipped for a blade after all that as well LOL oh well, imagine the look on the face of whoever gets it as their first 600 or something....
