So this is just to vent about how fun it is, when vehicles change lanes without blinkers.
Today on the highway, I got pushed off the road by a truck. Truck was in the middle lane, I'm riding in the right lane approaching an upcoming exit. I didn't notice the trick changing lanes until I was beside him. He never turned on his blinkers, as I would have seen it from both the rear as I approached and the side as I was passing. Guys decides to change lanes and I don't notice immediately because he wasn't using his blinkers. I didn't freak out, just rolled off to the shoulder, as he made his way back to the middle lane when realizing I was there. No harm done, I'm fine...a warning would have been nice.
On my way home, I'm riding in the middle lane, truck to my right and SUV to my left a little ahead. SUV just starts moving over into my lane, and I lay on the horn as I slow down. So I eventually pull up and change lanes, as I get next to the SUV, I point out my mirror, to showcase how useful it can be. Then pull ahead and turn on my blinker as I move back to the middle lane, and pointed it out to show how useful that also is.
I'm just pointing out the lack of courtesy and care with other people on the road. I realize accidents happen, but are often easily avoidable.
One of the things we all got to be aware of man, got to be a defensive driver as best you can, glad to hear nothing happened and you lived to ride another day!

Blind spots kill. I never try to hover around those spots. I try to either be in my own little space where I'm "easily" visible. I learned after an old geezer cut me off and I gestured to him I was pissed but he thought I was saying hi so he waved. Douche move I know but once you're on the receiving end of an accident you start to become prejudice against cagers!

Because it's cool bro!! So all the ladies can be like "oh look at his sexy bike!" Flush mounts get you so much
Edit: On another note, the Competition Werkes FE for the 07-12 don't compromise the rear end lights too bad. It just gets rid of the fender and flushes the turn alongside the brake light. Enough people make their own kits like this one.
My other bike has LED turn signal lights when I purchased it and whenever someone is behind me and I'm making a right turn where there is no right turn lane I throw up a hand turn signal. It helps with me feeling more secure but then again I bet half the guys on the road don't even know what I'm throwing up my hand for.

i try not to ride beside cars whenever possible. either in front or a safe distance behind. learned too many times from people trying to lane change into me.
Happens a lot. If I ever have a car directly next to me in a lane, I am ready for them to start to merge toward me at anytime. I try to ride in the fast lane to limit this to one side then try to keep positioned so there is no car directly beside me and I am not in someones blind spot.
Always drive like you are invisible to the cars on the road.
That really erks my nerves, people don't even look. They just come over, no blinkers, talking on the phone. I try to stay either in the far right lane or the far left lane. I've had cars come over on me while traffic was 65-70 mph. Scary. Just try to be aware and be safe out there.

Woman did that to me on the phone, a bus in her lane stops so no problem to her, just flung the car out into my lane to keep going, one problem dickhead....IM IN THAT LANE ALREADY!!!!!
I was fuming...and she was annoyed i was trying to interupt her conversation while she was driving with one hand...she pulled off so i couldn't pull her over...that was the smartest thing she probably ever did I was about to go mental that day, she was going to sum up all my hatred for cars and i was going to take it all out on her that day(not fair maybe but i was in the mood then that was gonna happen).

My rear signals now are brighter(much brighter) than oem and use less power, despite being smaller ;) but yea I don't go for integrated
As for flushmounts oem front indicators don't aim backwards where as good flushmounts can be seen from front side and rear, the recessed ones only seen from the side yea i agree they suck

The hurt report actually showed bikes were more likely to have their right of way violated by cagers when travelling in front of or behind a group of cars.

This is exactly what I do. If I had a nickel for every time someone drifted in my lane....
Once a lady tried to make a UTURN FROM THE MIDDLE LANE. I was in the left lane and she just slammed on her brakes and swerved into my lane. My rear tire hit her car at like 1mph and she was extremely apologetic...I was actually surprised she didn't end up with a broken mirror.

I use arm signals when preparing for a merge anyways (Straight arm left or straight arm right), never count on bike signals regardless of oem or aftermarket.
if i had $1 every time someone just came in my lane i'd be on a ducatti..
i usually just lay my horn on for a solid 10 seconds or so to make sure they know they're a f*cking tard
if they're too busy on the phone to even notice my horn or act like they didn't do anything wrong i find a nice punch to their window and flipping them off seems to relay the message nicely. hopefully the next time they'll look twice

as i use mine back an forth to work, always in heavy traffic. Cagers are on the phone postin facebook, talkin about their cat, an dinner. Way more important things to do than worrry about running someone over. Pay attenion to everything!!
