i dont take the bike out really on any temps below 40 degrees, i ride a lot so i bundle up but the cold streets and cold tires do scare me a little , so the 40 degree mark is kinda where i like to be in my truck rather than on the bike.
i also rode 16,500 miles this year alone.
I make mine easy to remember, freezing point is my cut off. Colder = Cage (car/van/truck), Hotter = Honda (bike).
Although I don't like to ride when it's too cold, I really like winter and cooler temperature. Only thing I don't like about is is lower temperature = more power and less traction, not the best of combination.

Between 50-55* was my absolute min. even in my 1-piece suit. My bike is for recreational purposes so I only take it out when its comfortable (warm weather, minimal night riding, minimal rain riding).
Back in my young & dumb days only once did I ride in a snow/sleet storm with temps around 34* ...won't be doing that **it again anytime soon lol.

I have a simple rule to remember if I should take the bike or not. "If the roads aren't closed, it's riding weather" rain, shine, ice, snow, just a matter of getting used to riding in it. although I will admit, riding when it's 12 degrees outside does kind of suck lol.
Well I don't own a cage anymore, so I have no choice but to ride..Not that i'm complaining :) Coldest i've ever ridden was -8C in the snow. Wasn't enjoyable but that's down to the snow. Temperature doesn't really bother me.
Getting the bike started in -8C wasn't a good experience, that's for sure. Trying to start a 125 little stroker with no choke is not for anyone with little patience.
I've learned to live with the cold(er) temps with like 3 jackets but with rain I don't see the need to risk it.. I have ridden in the rain tho but any chance of showers or just after one I take the cage everything else I suit up if I feel like riding
Anything below 30F and I drive. Any REAL rain, not that weak stuff we've been getting in SoCal lately, and I'll drive.
About 45 minutes to work each way and the only discomfort I ever experience is in my finger tips, but that's nothing an engine cover can't warm up if needed. I typically only ever wear my dainese jacket with liner and thermals.
Lowest this winter for me on a ride is 15F....20F is more than comfortable and a great blast :) Can easily go a few hours with just finger numbing/pain :) ... I have no heated **** either
To those avoiding rain....lolz....live in the UK..it rains throughout the year.....decent tyres and clothing and you can have as much if not more fun :) Just avoid the flooding if poss

For pleasure above 40. When I'm really itching to ride or if the weather is supposed to be nice when I get off work I'll brave it as low as the teens. Heated jacket, heated grips, underarmour, and every square inch of skin covered. Works great for about 30 minutes.
Coldest I've ridden was 28 on the way home from work one morning. I only have a 4mile commute to my job so I'll usually brave any temp as long as it's not raining or ice on the roads.
below 30 is when I wont ride my bike but Ive ridden in colder temps then that. above 30 is fine for me but ive got a sweat shirt on under my gear. I need to get a pair of winter gloves though then id probably ride in the 20's but I don't know about traction at those temps its bad enough with the salt everywhere right now.
This is something I've never thought about. Considering im in socal and ride up to Las Vegas to visit the gf biweekly anything the weather has to offer i ride.
Few weeks back was raining and i was like damn i need rain jacket, bought one from Southbay Motorsports then took off to Las Vegas in rain. Was rained on for 2 hours. Only rain gear/cold weather gear i had was jacket. Normal riding gear i always use other than that. Coldest temp i saw was 48, didn't bother me much even though gloves and pants all wet.
I just figure if i ever go somewhere its snowing, then that's the only time i won't ride. Well i don't think i would.
Although my bike is moreso for fun, I still use it to commute from time-to-time. Here in socal, we're pretty spoiled with our weather. I'm from NY so I know what real cold feels like.
With that said, I'll ride in just about any temp that socal has to offer. And eventhough I've ridden in the rain several times, I try my best to avoid it -- drivers here lose their minds when there's even the slightest bit of precipitation.
cbr604, you're a douche. NOBODY said anything offensive or disrespectful and you come off with blatent ignorance. Don't kill yourself on your bike. Spare the machine. Its obvious you're a wanna be E-Thug. Your mother should have swallowed you.

Coldest temps I've ridden is 26f with mist in the air... Was able to watch the ice form on my gloves... a rain jacket to block the wind and I'm good to go. Rode thus morning when it was 31f with freezing fog
I've been commuting in 30F mornings this winter. I use a sweater under my touring jacket, leather boots, and a face mask.
I haven't seen another sportbike in months! Just the occasional hardcore older guy on his Harley.
