I've been riding in textile for several years now and I'm looking at leather.. I've seen several jackets that I like, but they are for the most part white.
My current textile jacket is black/white and the white parts have gotten quite dirty from daily riding and I've tried washing it, but that didn't do much good. So I'm wondering if white leather would be same way, or if I should continue looking for a black jacket.
I have a white J826 and it will get dirty just Black jackets the white requires little but more cleaning but its not really that bad my bike is white so so I wipe down the Jacket , face shield then turn around and do a quick bike wipe as well .
Thre is an identical jacket to the one I am talking about for sale check out this link http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=296114

. The Leather Lotion doesn't require much elbow grease - just follow the directions, and the dirt comes up with just a little wipe. I've tried leather cleaners meant for cars, furniture, jackets, purses, etc., but that Dillard's stuff is by far the best stuff I've used for cleaning.
I have other leather jackets in black and red, and a textile jacket - the textile actually seems to be the hardest one for me to keep clean.
A quick wipe down after riding will go a long way toward keeping the intensive cleaning sessions away (don't let the dirt build up, and you won't have to spend a long session making up for the quick wipe-downs you should have done).
The downside of white is you have to stay on top of it as far as cleaning or it looks like crap fast. Even if you stay on top of it will get discolored in areas. I don't know what some of those bugs are made of but they can stain that white pretty fast.
Thank you for purchasing a 600rr as your first bike.

It is really difficult to keep it clean. Some spots will come off, others will not. After a year or so you will get tired of cleaning it every time you go riding. White will become brown after a while.
I have the white speed and strength twist of fate 2.0 leather jacket. Mine comes clean just fine and I went for a few months without cleaning it. (about 7000 miles) I use a leather upholstery cleaner in spray bottle from Walmart. Works perfect.
lol, that chit cleans everything, i use it on the tile grout in the kitchen :P
re white jackets, i just imagine you'd have to pay more attn to it is all, love the white RS GMX^ if i lived in a very hot climate (no winters) and had a white bike i def would of gotten the white one vs my Black/Red. The Leather Honey works well fyi
It all depends on how clean you want it to be an how much effort you want to put into it.
If you want it to be brand new, out-of-the-bag clean that's going to take some serious effort. If you don't want to put some decent elbow grease into it once or twice a year it's going to look a little rough.
If you don't mind a slightly used look and you're able to spend an hour wiping it all down once in a while you're going to be perfectly happy.
I own a 5 year old Dainese Laguna Seca jacket with bits of white leather here and there. I haven't cleaned the jacket even once and it shows on the white leather, in particular. TBH I really like the look of the yellowed leather; it gives it character to me :]
Now my mostly all-white Dainese New Delmar is a different story. I'd like to keep this jacket looking shiny and new as long as possible!
Wipe it down after every other ride, should preserve the leather pretty well. Just stay away from really humid areas with tons of bugs.
