i left my last remaining key at a friends place 300kms away, and i need to take my bike to the lake this weekend. is there any way for me to bypass the ignition?
i don't want to wreck my ignition in the process. if i disassemble the two large gold hex nuts on the bottom, or the phillips head screws, or both, will that get me to where i want to be?
if someone knows how, but doesn't want to post it publicly on this board, feel free to PM me. i will even take pictures of me standing beside the bike holding a sign or something to prove its me haha. i have been a member since 04 when i bought the bike, obviously i'm not a random thief haha
Good luck dude they have internal security systems. If u dont know what your doing it cuts somthing off and it wont let u start it. My buddie works at a honda dealer and he said that is dosnt even like messing with it. You are better off using a truck. Just a FYI

the whole story is i got too drunk last weekend visiting my buddy, and during the night we got seperated and he never came home, so i had to leave my luggage at his place
guess i will just have to wait till i get my luggage bussed to me if theres an internal security device... i'll have to take my dads crappy slow goldwing to the lake this weekend :(

yes. any honda dealer can cut you a new key with the numbers stamped on the key housing... and proof of ownership.

My 04 is really easy to hotwire. I refuse to say how, but when I was putting in my alarm system, I found out exactly how it all works and it's way too easy to do. My alarm lets me start the bike and run it keyless. If you do it wrong though, you can short th whole system. Even if you get it on, the starter wire is under the seat and would be a pain to jump, you would be push starting. How the fuk did you get the bike that far from the key in the first place.
Any sportbike is easy as hell to fire up without a key if you know what you're doing. We shouldn't have to tell you how to do it, you should be able to figure it out yourself by looking at the ignition. If you can't figure it out then you probably aren't mechanically inclined enough to do it even with instructions. Unless you really know what you're doing, you'll just end up poping the diode or a fuse. Then you're gonna have to tear the ignition apart and solder another one in. It's a b!tch of a job because of how small it is too.
Stop being dikc Spank. It is in the Service manuals and Cymlers guides..
Just jump the harness, unplug the the ingnition from the harness, plug and make a jumper.
This is hell on the battery so get it set and get on the road.
You can also just splice the wires at the ignition or the harnes and cross them. I believe they are red and black wires.
