That's a good write-up... that's just how I removed my PAIR valve. I did option A with the vacuum plugs because it was cheaper than buying the block-off plates... and simpler too.
just like powderblueRR, id also like to know what it affects and does exactly. i dont like doing things randomly :( sounds good however. i wanna do this, the emissions stuff, and the velocity stacks, assuming everything doesnt have a side effect i dont favor.

seems like a alot of work....does it give ne more power?
is that on all bikes or just CA?

This seems like the performance increase is mostly theoretical based on it simply eliminating a process not strictly focused on producing forward motion. Just one of those things a racer wouldn't put back on.
Unless someone has some data showing a difference, I can't imagine doing this unless I'm in there anyway, or bored on a Sunday afternoon =P.
Awesome write-up. I ditched the PAIR system yesterday, and this guide was a big help. It was fairly straightforward, but I wasted a ton of time because one of the screw heads on the air filter was stripped and I had to drill it out.
Hopefully it will stop snowing and warm up soon so I can ride the bike.
Removal of PAIR valve and installation has no power gain benefits. Installation of block off plates is for one purpose: to prevent "popping" under deceleration as unspent fuel is shot out of the exhaust. The function of the PAIR valve itself is simply to aid w / emmissions by introducing air into the exhaust to burn off any unspent fuel during the combustion process.
Must be something else I finally got my bike back together this weekend and got it started the light is blinking twice and this was the only thing i could think of that i did that could cause it but i guess not. You did remove all of it right including the valve controller that all of the tubes went into and also the only thing that plugged into anything.

Yup. I removed the servo, the 3 hoses, and the plug, and capped everything off with 5/8" vaccum caps.
wouldn't having the bike remapped properly prevent the need to remove the PAIR valve? Or does it have anything to do with the mapping. Forgive the stupid Q's not much of a mechanic and know little to nothing about the werks of my 07.
Actually, most dyno shops require blocking off the inlet from the PAIR to the airbox before doing any tests anyway. Otherwise this recirculated emission impacts the data they get from the exhaust sensors.
Alright, I cant be the only person having problems finding 5/8" vacuum caps. I live in California, after doing research i see someone found them at advanced auto (not in california) and they called them bypass plugs. Before I leave my house, can anyone let me know for sure where to find them?
"Make sure to leave the crank case vent line in place. Blocking off this line will cause very bad things to happen. Leaving it open to the atmosphere will just cause a mess and dirt to get into the system. Just don't mess with it. You fucked the earth by pulling out the PAIR and SMOG systems, don't **** yourself as well by getting heavy handed with this plumbing thing."
