Nice trailers. If I had known about these before I got my 5x8 open I would jump all over this. My next trailer will be enclosed though.

The loading ramp stores under the trailer.

Trailer

My friend wants one for his quad.
He has a Kodiak 400 and wants to use the quad for towing the trailer around job sites and trails and then be able to tow the quad home. Any suggestions?

Going by the information I got off the www. for his quad, our mid size 4x5 trailer would do fine.
http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outdoor/...1/0/specs.aspx

The Kodiak 400 is 78.5” L x 43.0”W and its got a 48.5”L wheelbase.
Our 4x5 trailer has a 62"L x 50"W bed size. Weighting at only 218lbs, the quad would not have any problem towing it around(1102 lb towing capacity).
The trailer itself is capable of payload 1800 lbs capacity. Its more than enough to haul the quad back at its 578 lb dry weight.
If he doesnt need the motorcycle rail, he can just get the trailer by itself. $329 not including shipping. Only thing he needs is to get a piece of 3/4" plywood for the bed base from Home Depot, and build or buy a ATV loading ramp.

Yes. People push it up on its side with the control of the throttle. Search the forum for guides on how to load a bike onto the trailer.

will do. i also have a spare ramp to so i could always place that next to the bike ramp and walk up that and use the throttle.

Thanks. Are you always selling these? As of right now i don't need one but over the winter i plan on picking one up for next season.

bro there are 2 different sizes... a 4x5 and 4x6... it will fit on the 4x6 ... and the wheels are what have to actually fit on the trailer not the total length of the quad lol

Exactly. You may not even have to go with the 4x6.
The wheel base of the Kodiak 400 is 48.5”L.

Dumb question, but if I pick up the two rail trailer, but only want to load one bike on it, can i remove one of the rails and center the other one so that the trailer is balanced (side to side)? I want the ability to load two bikes but realistically one is what I'll be taking to the track 90% of the time.

Yes. Mounting holes are pre-drilled on the trailer to mount one rail in the center, or two rails one on each side. Total of three different positions.

Does the rail go on top of the aluminum sheet? If not then you can't really have three positions can you?

Hey PM with price to zone 6

Yes, the rails goes on top of the aluminum base. See a couple of posts above for the actural trailer.
Shipping to Zone 6 for which trailer? 4x5 or 4x6? Single rail or Dual rails?

Important Note:

We just got informed by FedEx, all the shipping rates are going UP starting October 1, 2007.
The forum member special pricing for the trailers are still good, just the shipping rates are different which will effect your total cost :sad11:

So if you are planning on getting a trailer, NOW is the time.

I will post up the new shipping rates after Oct 1st.
