I see that new exhausts (like the two bros for example) are labeled as the same part for 2007, 08, 09, etc. My question is, is the yoshimura slip on from a 2007 able to be used on a 2009?
i know there are some different slightly different curves in the mid pipe for the 09 model, someone posted up here a mid pipe from an 07 and 09 and were slightly different. This makes me wonder how two brothers makes it work for every year, the fitment has to be slightly off for one of the years im thinking.
yeh akrapovic have different link pipes for 07-08 and 09+. With the two bros i found they dont quite sit straight on my 2009 and this could be down to the slightly different link pipe needed.
hmmm interesting
i did an engine swap couple of months ago , 08 for an 09 motor
and my Akro mid pipe off of the 08 system fit perfectly onto the 09 exhaust system
From experience, an 09+ Akra pipe will not fit into 07-08 and vice versa. I've tried.
But interesting indeed, since the current model share the same engine I wouldn't think it has anything to do with pipe fitment.
I disagree. I use to have a akra 09+ on my 08 with no issues one bit. All that does not line up is the bolt to the sub frame so I never putit since it has more support on the can itself from the carbon fiber piece that bolts on the the subframe as well.
It sounds like they're saying it will, you just won't be able to secure the bracket on the mid-pipe. I had to leave that bolt off for my Scorpion as well.
I know this is going to be a stupid question, but is that a big issue that you can't secure one of the bolts to the subframe? Or will it not really make much difference due to it being secured at the actual slip on bit?
