Hey,
My girlfriend and I picked up an 03 CBR 600rr today. 12k, scorpian S/O, 520 conversion....etc, nice bike just a few issues......

I checked the bike out before buying, but somehow, I didn't notice that the temp gauge quickly shoots up when riding. When I took my turn riding it home, I noticed that the temp got up to 215 degrees while riding at 70 mph. Later in the day we rode up to Chico where my parents live. While riding through the small towns the temp on her bike would shoot up to 230ish, but as soon as we got moving again it would drop down to a normal temp. Is this normal for a CBR? I ride Kawi and am new to Hondas, so I'm at a loss. Do they run hot? Can you always feel a lot of heat in your legs and butt? The fan works, the coolant and oil levels are good, the only thing left to do is flush the radiator. Any other suggestions? We have yet to ride around town during a hot day, and I am concerned that the bike will overheat if we do so...

Other than that, the clip-ons (handlebars) were gutted so we need to know where to get the internals so we can get some good barends on it.

248 is technically overheating. i've never under any condition, seen my bike go over 229. i'd shut it off if it ever reaches 240 anything. freeway cruising i'm between 174-180 depending on uphill/downhill and revs.
