My headlight's keep blowing fuses. I have had the bike apart and gone thru looking for shorts, i didnt find any. The question that i am trying to ask is there anyone that might now of a common problem or do i need to probably rewire the headlights? Thank you

Yes there is a common problem pull off the wiring harness then pull out the headlight bulb
itself there is a black plastic socket that holds the bulb inspect that socket its famous
for getting hot sometimes causing one of its prongs to cause a short

Its part # 6 in this picture

Is there any way of fixing this. Like buy a new socket. Or should i just clean it up alittle and see what happens(i havent taking it off the bike yet just wondering)

This has also happened to me twice now in a matter of a month. Would it happen that often?

Are you using after market bulbs (higher wattage than 55 W)

i was told to use an H7 and those are 55w

That is correct and i was only asking cause its common for sport bike
riders to change their bulbs to higher output ones without thinking of
the problems caused by such change.

Just like your problems i had problems with my 03 RR head lights as well
check the sockets like i suggested if you see burn effect inspect the
prongs if one is loose then that is your problem right there

Let me know either way i might have a socket or two that you can
have :five:

Sure man i just went thru my box of goodies and you are so
lucky i found one socket its yours if that is your problem
just pm me your mailing address and i will take care of the

well once again thank you moeman. I got your part monday afternoon, it came quick. i got mine and yours mixed up...lol but i put the two best looking ones on the bike. They have been in since monday night and so far no problem's. Time will tell. but once again moeman because so far so good. i will update if it blows out again.
