BIKE: -2007 HONDA CBR600RR
-Just a little over 8000 miles
USED FOR: -in town commuter riding average 3500-5500 RPM's
-highway riding average 6000-8000 RPM's
-occasional highway pulls to 13k or so RPM's
MODS: -JARDINE RT1 Duel Tip Carbon Fiber slip on exhaust pipe
-POWER-COMMANDER 3 USB DYNO tuned with new exhaust
by professional tuner
Problem: -Very loud high pitched engine noise.
description: -there is no abnormal engine noise that i cant tell, notice, or hear at all anything below 5500rpm's. it gets noticeable around the upper 7k RPM.
the higher i rev the louder the sound gets and the higher the sound pitch gets all the way to 13,000 RPM's. i simply do not ever like to redline my bike by personal choice.
i was thinking maybe the CCT but, there is absolutely no abnormal engine operational noise that i can discern with my naked ear at idle and low RPM.
everything that ive read so far about the CCT problem is that there would be a rattle at idle and would go away after about 4500-6000 RPM's.
the best way to describe the tone and pitch of the sound would be to imagine being next to a construction site and hearing a very fast spinning circular saw cutting through a really hard dense board. (didn't want to say wood) lol
in a little bit today im going to put the bike on its stands an take a video recording of me starting the bike while its cold, (will be the first time the bike has been started in about 30 hours) and try to capture the sound while the video shows the gauges, plus what I'm doing the throttle and clutch.
I'm open to any and all "EDUCATED" ideas or possible solutions.
thanks for the space and interest. I'm stumped. Just hopping that its nothing major. :iamwith::banghead::banghead::banghead: i do not think its a failed or failing bearing.
