I just upgraded from an 05 to 07 cbr 600rr. It has 6300 miles. My mods are 2 brothers slip on exhaust, flush mount signals, and fender elim. The bike sputters at high rpms, about 13000. The bike had WAY too much oil when I got it. First thing I did was put 10 w 40 royal purple oil since I wasn't sure when the last guy changed it. The f1 light was on when I got it. With the right amount of oil it helped with the sputtering. Next I thought dirty injectors, added a half gallon of race fuel to a full tank of gas. Didn't help. My f1 light gives 2 SHORT blinks. I THINK that code is map sensor error. Tomorrow I'm taking the tank off to check the hoses. My buddy thinks the guy I got it from may have had a power commander on it and took it off before selling and didn't reconnect something right. Does anyone have any ideas on wat could be going with the sputtering and f1 light?

Also... When I changed the oil I put 3 quarts which was WAY high. The bike ran like crap. Had to shift each gear at about 6000 rpm. It's like it was starving for gas. Drained some oil and made a huge difference. It's ran much better but still hesitates / sputters at high rpm. Gotta shift at about 11000 rpm

Yh I put a new oil filter in. It was doing it before I changed the oil though. Were in the process of getting the plastic and tank off to check the map sensor now

checked that nico.. we even changed out the fuel pump thinking that may be it. our next try is gonna be spark plugs. if that doesnt fix it i dunno where to go from there. possibly a new ecu. heres a better idea of whats going on.. crank the bike idles fine. put it in 1st get to 9000 rpm's and it bogs down, like its starving for gas or air or gettin to much. so you have to shift to 2nd, then at 9000 rpm's same thing. all the way through 6th. bike wont go over 100 and barely gets to that. it only has 6500 miles on it roughly. im just ready for it to be fixed.. if anyone has any more ideas please let me know asap. were gonna change the plugs tomorrow so hopefully that will do it and its not a waste of money. also, there's no fi light so any ideas of why it would run like this WITHOUT throwing a fi light. im pretty sure the guy i bought it from had a power commander on it and took it off. would that have anything to do with it? oh and a mod i found once we took it apart there is a k & n air filter. so mods in all are the filter, 2 brothers slip on, flush mounths and fender eliminator.

Havnt checked it yet. Were gonna strip it down again one night this week. Luckily I have a really good friend who knows A Lot about these bikes. Throw any ideas out there that we should check while we have it stripped. The guy I bought it from had it sitting up a lot without riding. So that's why he's thinking a fouled plug. I hope the plugs fix it.

Just check that it has the full range of movement and that there is nothing obstructing the intake...
