there is a noise coming from my bike when the throttle is open but when the throttle is close and the clutch is grab the sound goes away. anyone familiar with this problem? the bike has 16000 miles.. thanks for any help

With the lack of information, I'm going to take a guess and say that noise is your engine. Internal combustion engines get louder and make more noise as you rev them higher. By pulling in the clutch and closing the throttle, the engine is allowed to drop in revs, this getting quieter and having any new noises vanish.

clutch issue perhaps. my father is a honda tech, and he has taught me alot about hondas.. im not the tech, but from experience, if the sound goes away when the clutch is engaged, and comes back when you pull in the clutch lever, its most likely a worn clutch that has worn away the pads, and is now metal to metal.. just guessing here, id say time for a new clutch pack.
